Dog Walking Just became a joy!
We have a 3.5-year-old male Labrador who weighs 38.5 kilos (85lbs) and has the strength of a small car. Because of his naturally inquisitive nature, he needs to get everywhere at lightning speed which means whenever I take him out, he constantly pulls on his lead (yeah, I'm a Brit) and by the time we get home, my arms were always aching with the strain. We've tried quite a few different harnesses/restraints over the years and all to no avail. This one turned up yesterday after we returned from another torturous walk (for me) so today was the first attempt. I confess that after having read the positive reviews for this harness, I remained sceptical, however comforted by the fact that I could return it when I proved it didn't work. The harness is available in several different colours to suit the ownerâs choice or match with the dogâs coat. I was concerned that the harness and lead would be somewhat flimsy, but they are extremely well made and very strong. We went out on our usual walk in the countryside and I am honestly amazed by the transformation!!Initially, there was no pulling at all until he got used to the harness. Any pulling after that was quickly corrected by a slight (and I mean slight) tug on his lead or by me simply stopping. I kept him on the double lead until we left the village where we live then had him on the single lead attached to the top of the harness for the rest of the walk.I can honestly say that today was the first time in 3.5 years that I thoroughly enjoyed taking the dog out for a walk. No more aching arms for me but more importantly, no more choking noises from my dog which I always found distressing.

Good Harness
This is a strong, good quality harness. It came with useful instructions showing the different ways you can use the lead. My dog appears to be comfortable wearing it. However, itâs gotten wet a few times while out walking and recently I have noticed that it seems to have shrunk a small bit.

Best I've Tried
The best harness I've tried so far. I've used a standard harness, and two other no-pull designs (pet-safe easywalk & Sporn). I have a 110 pound shepherd cross who is ruled by his nose and lives in the countryside surrounded by foxes, coyotes, skunks and porcupines. An olfactory smorgasbord. If he smells a skunk he tries to take me through the bushes and hedges to find it unless I manage to stop him. I'm only about 20 pounds heavier than he is, so I need some help. This harness is the best I've tried so far. It doesn't totally stop the pull, but it lessens it a lot and furthermore if you use it as a training harness and follow the suggestions you can train your dog to behave better. Also, it seems to be wriggle proof, so no escaping, unlike the other two. I use it with a collar and leash as well for extra steering. The leash it comes with has two clips so you can attach it to two different parts of the harness, a big improvement. It's sturdy, well-sewn with good clips, and has velvet underarm straps and I haven't seen any chafing. But I still use a leash on his collar as well because he's big, obstreperous, and totally into the world of sniff.** 1 year later: still using this harness, still pleased with it. To reduce the possibility of an unpleasant rodeo (we have a porcupine living nearby) I coupled this with a Halti. The Halti has done wonders to slow the big dog down, but I still use the harness to maintain control. An excellent combo.

good design, comfortable for dog...prefer the gentle leader for better control
I tried this harness due to the very high ratings. This harness/leash is a good design, seems comfortable for the dog, and a good tool to pull the dog closer to you when they are drawn elsewhere. The issue I had with it was after using a gentle leader for so long, I found I had a lot more control, the dog listened better, and the leash on this harness is a little wide to hold comfortably for long walks. I feel that my dog who is 90lbs felt that she had more control over me, especially since she had more head control. I really wish it worked, as I was looking for a harness with the same amount of control as the gentle leader...as that sometimes rubs below her eye if she is pulling, but most of the time responds very well to the gentle leader and can walk very good. All in all, if your dog is used to the feel of a harness instead of something like the gentle leader I'd try it. I will keep using the leader and probably try another harness called "the easy walker" in the future.

Works well for my GSD's
Walking two GSD in a neighborhood full of squirrels, bunnies and yappy little dogs can be a chore. These helped with the tugging. I only wished the included leashes were a bit longer. With these hooked up to both connection points, the leash is only about 3ft long. I think there is a "euro" leash you can purchase for this to make the length closer to the "standard" 6ft but I have not tried them yet.
