warm tone and not pitchy - stays in tune. no subtle pitch bends with sustain
Agree with what everyone has said here - warm tone, clear notes, easy bends, light on touch, etc. The biggest difference to me that separates from the ernie ball's has been the reverend's ability to hold their notes and stay in tune without pitchy note fluctuations.I recently made the switch on my Les Paul from 10's to 8's. I started down this path looking for ability to add more vibrato to my playing, in addition to hearing BB King responding to Billy Gibbons- "why you working so hard". I had my Les Paul reset as I like low action specifically for the 8's and originally with Ernie Ball super slinky 8's. After adjusting to the touch issue with 8's, I was finding the strings to be hard to stay in tune, and when it was in tune, my notes seemed to shift pitch subtly as they sustained. This originally made me question my guitar tech, but then I read about these strings. I took the plunge and I can say that i'm really happy with the results. The problem I was experiencing was string related.Immediately, the strings stayed in tune after restringing guitar. I am no longer suffering from the pitchiness I was experiencing with the Ernie Ball's 8's. Also, the warmth I'm experiencing now makes my guitar sound similar to playing with 10's - more range in mid's and low notes. It's been a really great experience switching both to 8's and now these strings. All of a sudden, I feel like a really good guitarist. There are adjustments that need to be made in playing style, but I'm enjoying the ability to add subtle bends into notes and accents with chords. Stretching between 4 and 5 fret spans have also become easier. I've been playing guitar for 30 years and I wish I would have made this decision a long time ago. Also, I'm not a blues player - I do a lot of finger picking, in addition to "ambient" styles. Hope this review helps - I wasn't finding a lot of people complaining about pitch issues with the competitor's strings.

Best 8s Out There
Feels right. Tried other brands, but these got it right both highs & lows. Feels freer & more stable at same time. Important: they stay in tune & never broke one (and I do double bends regularly).

greatest strings I have ever used. tried them on a couple acoustic guitars., I'll be ordering more for my electric guitars. the tone is really sweet. I've been playing for over 50 years and wish I had known about these years ago.

Requires A Light Touch
If your are going from 9's to 8's these may be fine. But if you are going from 10's it might require a complete setup... adjust the bridge to avoid fret buzz or a slight turn to the truss rod, also perhaps the nut may be too loose. Yes these required me to intonate my tele, but worked better on my single cut. So if you making a two gauge step you may want to purchase 9's. The strings are light under your fingers and you have to temper your bends because they bend so easily. Not bad for the price, but I still prefer NYXL.

I love these strings!
I used to use medium strings. I'd have grooves in my fingers after an hour session. Not, with Rev Willys! I'm now using Willys med light (08). So smooth and easy to play. I've even been able to lower my strings and action.

Best strings I've used.
Having been a bassist for much of my life and since becoming a studio guitarist/bassist. These strings are essential to me. I can play for long hours. I used heavy gauge strings on my basses and that caused wrist issues after 45. So these strings are a savior. Unlike most extra light gauge strings, they don't go out of tune and they last a long time. Give them a try!!!
