If i take my 3/8 cable out will this 1/4" fit and work on a General wire rooter xp powerfeed

It depends on the capacity of your drill chuck which grips the cable. Get a 1/4 '' drill or rod and see if the chuck will grip it firmly; if yes, the cable will work, if no then it won't. That's it.
