Perfect replacement for Coleman Powerchill
Our car charger cord failed on a road trip and I almost junked our cooler, but found that the originals often failed after some research online. First I checked the fuse inside the adapter but it was good. The adapter appeared to just be worn out so that it wouldn’t make good contact consistently. So I ordered this replacement, which after a bit of disassembly, connected easily to the original electrical connectors inside the fan housing. I used some heat shrink tubing to seal the connections as it was originally installed. The new adapter appears to be of much higher quality than the original and it works perfectly. Very pleased.

It Works!
I found a discarded cooler with a bad cord at work. I ordered the replacement cord, figuring I'd only be out about $15 if it didn't work, but I'd have a $140 cooler for my semi if it worked. The ends of the cord were soldered and didn't have the blade tips. I cut the blades off the old cord, cut off the solder from the new cord, stripped 1/2" off the outside of both, spliced them together with a heat-shrink sleeve, plugged it in and it didn't work. I flipped over the heat-cold plug feature in the new cord, and it purred like a kitten. An hour later it was quite cold and had been working perfectly for several days now. I made my best guess on the blades, one was larger than the other. If I had guessed right, it probably would have worked without changing the heat-cool feature. My cooler doesn't have the heat option, which is fine. The product works great.

Quick, Solid replacement for lost cord
Shipped & arrived quickly to replace a cord lost "somewhere" at home. Darn men! (lol) Seriously, it works just like the original (super easy) and was worth the money to have the cooler working again.

This can work as a splice-in strategy on conked-out coolers
well, my Coleman 40qt truck cooler is only for cooling, not heating; this replacement power cord was built to service both of the high-end coolers. OK, my 40qt. power-chill went out about 2 years ago; I decided to try reviving it with a cord replacement. Fortunately, this lame idea actually worked. I snipped off the end of the existing cord, exposed the copper bits, and twist-tied the two end points with suitable electrical twisty-caps. Wasn't sure if there were 'white and black' lines or 'red and black' lines; the plastic-coated lines are a uniform black, no indicators of 'pos' or 'neg' hook ups. OK, went ahead and just did this, and tried it out. The cooler fired up properly, like new, and has been running great so far. So, the original problem seemed to be this: my vehicle induced a melt-down at the 12-volt tap, and the old plug was permanently warped, even though the fuse seemed to be OK. A plug replacement is a good (small cost) way to try and resurrect a vehicle cooler from the appliance graveyard.

What the replacement cord looks like
Honestly the original cord worked for maybe a month or two and this one has lasted over a year. I’m a truck driver and although not suggested to keep the cooler on all the time. My cooler has only been off 12 weeks a year. So glad I found this cord. Also if the fuse does happen to blow in the cig lighter plug part. Make sure you get 15amp AGC fuses. Anything smaller will only last an hour or two! Super simple to replace. Remember don’t touch the glass part of the fuse. (Might be myth) but I used gloves anyway.

New Life for An Older Ice Chest
Apparently this part commonly goes out on this Brand/style of plug-in ice chest cooler. The ice chest was still in fine shape so it was great to find the replacement part here at a reasonable cost and do a simple installment to give the cooler new life.
