Life changing!
I have been lactose intolerant for over 30 years. I tried lactase enzyme pills, but they really were inconsistent and didn't work at all for me on some dairy products - (ranch dressing!). I tried a different pro-biotic strain from a different company first and it did NOT work for me (Lactobacillus acidophilus BL21A). I even cultured dairy (yogurt) with the pro-biotic to try to boost effectiveness, and it still did not help. However, I added this pro-biotic strain to my yogurt, and it is working like magic! The only side effect is that dairy does cause some 'backing up' of my system, so I take a magnesium citrate gel cap to keep everything moving. I did take the capsules for 1 week as directed before adding the pro-biotic to the yogurt. I can't say if the two strains combined together are the trick to making my yogurt work for me, but I know the other strain did not work before adding this one. To be able to eat dairy again without horrific pain is really life changing for me. Thank-you for making this product.

Changed my Life
As I’ve gotten older, I suddenly started to lose the ability digest lactose. After eating lactose I’d have to immediately go to the bathroom and have cramping for 24 hours after. When I took this pill all the symptoms went away. I’m able to digest lactose now so easily. Some pro tips I’ve learned after taking this for years:Follow the instructions. Try to take the pills 3 days a week on an empty stomach. Really hard I know.Be sure to wait for a week after finishing the last dose before eating lactose.I’d recommend taking a dose every six weeks to be able to digest lactose consistently.Be sure to start the pills right as you get them since I don’t think they last very long after they’re shipped.

Not for the severely intolerant
My intolerance to lactose is severe. If I have more than a sip of skim milk or a bite of ice cream or a half tsp of butter, I have terrible bloating and digestive issues.I followed the instructions (eating a pile three times a day either one hour before or two hours after eating) for seven days with no side effects. I felt fine as I abstained from ALL lactose as I normally do.On day nine, I reduced the amount of lactase I take by 1/2 for a couple of cookies with butter (about 1 tsp of butter), and I noticed bloating. If the pills worked, it was MINIMAL and I doubt the effects would last long. For me, it is not worth the risk experimenting. I wanted these to work, but I suspect they're only effective for those with a mild intolerance.Perhaps the kind of person who wants to eat three slices of pizza instead of two without feeling a little bloated. Definitely not for someone whose genetic makeup demands they abstains from all lactose or they're out of commission for the rest of the day.

Works for me!
This product popped up as being recommended for me, based on my search for lactase pills like Lactaid. It sounded too good to be true, but there were a number of reviews that said it worked, and the description sounded straightforward and honest to me. And a single bottle, which (if it worked) would take care of my lactose intolerance for about 3 months, would cost what I'd pay for about a week and a half's worth of lactase. (My 40-year intolerance was so strong that I had to take about 20-25 Ultra Lactaids to eat an ice cream cone!) I gambled and bought a single bottle, not expecting miracles. What I got ... was a miracle! Instead of having to carry lactase pills with me everywhere and take them (lots of them!) with pretty much every meal, I don't even carry them any more! I hadn't even finished my first 1-week course of LactoFreedom when I noticed that I needed few or no lactose pills with most of my meals. (And for someone whose favorite foods are melted cheese and ice cream, that's a pretty big deal!) I have been taking LactoFreedom periodically for over a year and can't imagine living without it any more.A thought to those taking LactoFreedom: I had a bout with an intestinal virus soon after taking a course of LactoFreedom. It took me a few days before I realized that pretty much all the bacteria in my gut had been washed away, inluding those in LactoFreedom. I had to begin a new 1-week course at that point and once again, it worked like a charm. Also, I found that ordering many months ahead (buying, say, 5 or 6 bottles at a time) is not a great idea. Even though I kept them in the refrigerator as suggested, I found that coverage from the last few bottles was a week to two weeks shorter than with fresh bottles. I now order them one or two bottles at a time - but nothing is ever going to keep me from ordering them! Thank you, Dr. Manzo - these capsules have really changed my life for the better!
