Sturdy Base for Hard and Soft Cover Books
I read a lot of books and unless they're checked out from the public library, I almost always add notes in the margins. I've always wished there would be a way to take notes digitally (to 'converse' with the book, as it were) with as little distraction as possible. I've finally figured out how to do just that. The most critical component in my new setup is this hands free reading stand. It has a solid metal base, which is what makes the box surprisingly heavy upon arrival. The reading stand very easy to set up (one screw, allen wrench included). It took about 30 seconds in total. The plastic parts of this stand feel less solid than the base, but handled with care I do not anticipate any problems. As you can see from the added images, I tried out a full size, thick hardcover book, and a smaller size paperback. Both worked fine, the former requiring that I extend the wings close to their full extent. Turning the pages wasn't a problem with either book, no matter if I was near the beginning/end, or in the middle of the book. When the metal neck is parallel to stand's legs, the plastic platform rests on the table at a comfortable 45 degree angle. But the plastic can be rotated where it attaches to the neck about 225 degrees in total. One note of caution: the legs of the stand are not heavy enough to allow the neck, where it connects to the legs, to be tilted much past 90 degrees without the stand tipping over backwards. With the smaller of the two books I tested it maxed out at about 95 degrees before tipping. For the $37+tax that I paid, I'm very pleased with my purchase. When combined with my trusty old lap desk (into which I can perfectly fit the base of the stand), my small thin wireless keyboard connected remotely via bluetooth to my Surface Pro 8 tablet running OneNote 2016 on Windows 11, and the small wireless ring reading light which I can clip on to the back of the plastic platform, I am all set to take digital notes while reading, never needing to take my eyes off the book itself.Glad to have found this product, and to be the first reviewer. Will update if anything changes with regard to my satisfaction.Pic Descriptions:1-Clip opens to 7/8 inch3- 8 inch x 5 1/2 inch paperback, 165pp6- 9 1/2 inch x 6 1/2 inch hardback, 400pp

Great for Traveling
This stand fits anywhere in my luggage. I love the fact that I don't have to use it for just books but I can also use it for my iPad. It's super sturdy and not flimsy.

This is great. Especially for price
I have neck issues and was looking for a book stand to use for reading books, tablet. even phone. This was reasonably priced and looked less bulky than some. It is great. Fairly sleek looking and folds to store, thought really just to lower height. hads worked for various size books, my table and phone. I would highly recommend this. I gave it a 4 for stability as depending on size/weight of item you might need to play around with the angles ( 2 places you can adjust) before it is stable. Then it's fine.

Good for its intended use
I bought this for my desk to use with paperwork, books and other materials that I was tired of looking down at to read or understand. I will say that it’s very sturdy which I love, the neck is functional for almost any position you put it in, it’s also very lightweight/portable, but I have not tried a super heavy book on it yet. I have only had papers, a big agenda, and a folder on it for now. I will say determine the place you want to put it exactly and leave it there because if you aren’t careful and you have to reach behind it the edges at the back of it are a little rough and it scratched my hand not too bad though. I will be keeping it because it does its intended use just be mindful.
