I bought it for the protection and aesthetic. The cover fits snug on the console, and no the strap doesn't get caught somewhere weird if you do it right. Easy way to get more matching red trim on the inside since Mazda didn't think we wanted the doors to match the seats :p

I was really hoping that this would be a great product. I wanted this to help cover my center arm rest on my new car to prevent my dogs nails from scratching up the leather when they ride with me. I got the product in and installed it as soon as my car was delivered to me. It was easy to install and looked great! However, I noticed that the lettering was lifting on the top part of the wording. If I didnt ask for a replacement, soon the lettering could tear. Originally I just asked for a replacement because the item did look good and served its purpose. But I ordered one with lettering because I wanted one with lettering. Not just plain. I still very much wanted and needed the product. When my replacement came in, I had not even taken it out of the packaging and I noticed small bubbles under the lettering. This again confirmed that the lettering would not stay adhered to the piece. So I am returning the original and the replacement now and just asking for a full refund. Clearly the quality is not very good if not one, but two of them are not properly adhering.
