Good for mini fountains, too
I didn't use these for irrigation. I made small fountains and used this kit to suit my purpose.

A Known Capacitive V2.0 Design Defect Prevents this listing from being a good deal
I am relatively new to microcontroller projects, so I had to do a lot of research to assemble the necessary circuit to make this project work. However, after getting the assembly right, the relay would not turn off when the soil was moist. I queried experts on a couple of electronics forums and scoured numerous YouTube videos. Two major problems came to light: the first is a design / manufacturing problem with the V2 capacitive board where sloppy masking leads to an 80+% defect rate that causes the moisture sensor to respond way too slowly to moisture changes; the second is the relay - according to the experienced electronics professionals I asked, the triggering voltage is flawed. Since they don't supply the microcontroller, that problem is up to me to solve but the defective and known problems with the V2.0 capacitive board lies squarely in the court of this company who must know of this issue - it has been identified for years. Unless you enjoy putting dozens of hours in on a project only to find that the reason it doesn't work isn't because of your own learning curve but because the company that sold you the materials sent you defective boards, stay away from this set.

Works well with Arduino.
Worked well with Arduino. -1 star because it included only one type of wiring connection. My MKR 1010 IOT carrier Rev 2 was not compatible with them.

sensors did not work
None of the 4 sensors changed output with varyingsoil moisture.

Schematic Is Wrong
The schematic is wrong - the relay won't function with only 3.3v as the schematic depicts. Also you don't even need a relay because the arduino itself provides 5v...

Leaks and sensors don’t work
None of the sensors changed output when in air, dirt, or water and the one pump I tested, leaked behind the pump housing. I realize these are cheap pumps but they shouldn’t leak in that spot. Just bad design. They were returned with a note in the box.

It work
Good educational project.

No complaints
Works great. Maybe a bit lacking in terms of instructions but will be compatible with most tutorials when googling "Arduino watering system". Sensitivity of the moisture sensors isn't great. Wet to dry is about 250-450 on the analog read, but it's good enough to work reliably.
