Wonderfully Emotional!
This book is wonderfully emotional and passionate, and Meara Platt cleverly weaves historic detail and romance into this novella.James, the Earl of Exmoor is a wonderful hero, honourable, handsome, and generous, although he is still haunted by the remnants of the Napoleonic War and his dreadful injuries, which he still suffers from.He has lost belief in himself, until he meets Sophie.Making a promise to his dying best friend, he agrees to marry his friend's sister, Sophie, but what he never expected when agreeing to marry this beautiful and intelligent young woman, was to fall in love with her.Can Sophie save James from himself, only time will tell. This is my first Meara Platt book, and it certainly won't be my last. I absolutely loved this emotionally engaging story.

Just beautiful!
If you are looking for a short, well-written, lyrical romance with characters that will melt your heart, look no further. The hero is noble, kind and wounded. The heroine is loving, strong and his perfect match. Snuggle up with this romance and you won't be disappointed!

sehr gut

A charming novella
After her brother’s death in the Napoleanic wars, Sophie is unceremoniously removed from her home by her avaricious cousin. With little other option, she accepts a marriage of honor from her brother’s good friend, James, Earl of Exmoor. In this novella, Ms Platt manages to create believable and heart-warming characters that had me rooting for their ultimate HEA. A fully satisfying read.
