Our old fan burned out and needed a new one. Got this one--mostly for the LED light. Despite having a remote control, I decided to bypass it since it would mean one of our switches to control the fan would do nothing and we already had wall switches to control the fan speed and dim the lights on a fan. The remote controller was nice, but not necessary in our case.Thus, we wired it directly into the power sources instead of wiring it through the remote control receiver...a device that hides in the top housing of the fan next to the electrical box. I don't have to worry about finding the remote control which I am famous for misplacing.I thought this would mean I couldn't control the different light modes, but not so. Simply turning the light switch on and off quickly cycled through the three light modes. Nice. The only thing I lost from bypassing the remote is we can't put the fan on a timer to turn off during the night if that is what someone wants.The fan itself looks nice and classy. The LED lights are brighter than my old fan, but it tends to act more like a spotlight, throwing most of its light down in a growing cone-like shape. The far edges of the room are in a bit of shadow, but it really isn't bad. It is still brighter than my old 4-light fan.The fan is silent. I don't hear it at all. Course I just installed it and am writing this review after only one day of use. But happy so far.Installation was a piece of cake, though the instructions were somewhat lacking. It was clearly translated into English. The unit comes from China--which is unfortunate (they even misspelled words on the box). The unit is not terribly heavy, so I didn't find it hard to lift it up and install. The instructions warn not to install yourself...I think they meant not to install the fan yourself :). I've been installed on the earth for over 40 years, too late not to be installed. :) Still, if you have a bit of electrical knowhow and experience, this should not be a problem for you.I recommend it.

I absolutely love these fans! I was able to get them at a good price, under a hundred dollars. They are so worth the price! They look elegant in the bedrooms where I placed them and works really well. The remote control is easy to navigate. The wind circulation is on point, add an open window to that if you live in that kind of climate and it's a game changer. Even with an air condition unit in the room, I find that the air circulation from these fans does the job well, so I don't need to turn on the air as much at night. They are relatively quiet when on. I give this fan two thumbs up and 5 stars!

Updated - I tried to come on to ask a question, but it seems that this feature has been disabled. (hmmmm....) The light is too bright to enjoy and I wanted to know if I can line the inside with tint or if that would be a hazard.Otherwise, I like the fan enough that I have purchased 3 of them.I will get the negative points out of the way first:- as others have mentioned, the light is too bright. There are two light settings - a bright white or a softer white, which is still pretty bright.- there are no "dimmer" options to replace that light.- customer support does not seem to be too bright. I have emailed back and forth 3 times now simply to ask about getting a backup light for me to keep in stock and they cannot seem to answer that question. (they have answered back a couple of times, but fail to address what I am asking)- the way it is wired, there is a light switch that works the fan. With my previous fan, all I had to do was turn on the switch and the fan would start running. With THIS fan, once you turn off the switch, you MUST use the remote to turn the fan on and the light off (it defaults to light on, fan off)Now, for the good stuff:- no wobbling at all, which means no rhythmic noises from wobbling- the fan pushes out a more-than-decent amount of air (more than I have gotten from any other ceiling fan before- the fan is sharp looking!If I could give it 4.5 stars, I would, but because of the customer service thing, I rounded down.I would consider buying a second one, but as soon as I got this one, they raised the price by another $20, so I will only purchase another one if the price goes back down.
