VIM Tools Flex Socket Ratchet to T Handle Wrench 3pc Set - 1/4in Small Ratchet Set with Socket Extension and Adapter

I've long been searching for a small 1/4 ratchet that can do bits and sockets, on a flex head, with some method for an extension when needed for access. I've also broken this style of ratchet when trying to break things free, so there had to be a way to break a fastener free without endangering the ratchet mechanism. This checks all the boxes and is very well made. You can slip the extension into the head by aligning the flat on the extension with the dot on the ratchet and now you have a t-handle that you can apply a good amount of torque without worrying about breaking it. The handle spinner is an added bonus to speed up the t-handle even more. The beauty of the pass through bit ratchet is Leatherman flat bits fit in there and the retaining ring works with them if oriented correctly in relation to the snap ring. They don't work with the magnetic bit holders, but if you can carry the Leatherman bit extension you can use that with the magnetic bit holders. The included 1/4 socket adapter insert also engages with the retaining ring in the ratchet, so you avoid the frustration of losing your adapter with the socket. However, it doesn't have a retaining ring on the end of the t-handle or the extension, so you can occasionally lose the adapter with the socket. They clearly tried to make the magnets as strong as possible, but that can only do so much. The only improvement I would make to this tool would be adding a retaining ring to the extension and t-handle end, much like a higher quality bit insert holder.

In a time where cheap chinese copies of everything inundate our lives with disposable crap, this tool stands tall as a bastion of quality. It isn't cheap, but it is a great value for a reliable tool.

Pretty decent, actually takes a lot of torque and keeps ratcheting. Using it to put together a ships generator exhaust since the 3/8 ratchet and Allen sockets won’t fit.

Love this tool. I should’ve bought 2 & left the other one in my other tool bag. Solid build, comfortable in my hand, versatile, did the job with ease when I used it.

I got this because I had previously purchased a smaller flex ratchet from the company 711L which I found to be too small. I’d say this VIM flex head ratchet is perfect… if I had received the other model that has a thin metal handle. The version I got is probably a newer version, that has a black plastic insert on the handle… and the problem I find with this plastic handle is that it’s not glued to the tool and it spins. Not only is the plastic sleeve half the size of the complete handle, but it’s smack in the middle, so if you want the tool not to spin, you have to hold it close to the head with your thumb and index, and then with your pinky. I’ve deducted one star because of this “feature”. The tool itself is on the small side and the handle is already a slick cylinder. Instead of a spinning handle, I’d rather have them put knurling or texture on the handle for a better grip!

This set is the perfect, adaptable model, forming various possible positions and is very unique. Takes up no space. I keep it in the plastic it came with so as not to lose the smaller piece and to keep it in the best possible condition. Will get you out of a lot of unforeseen configurations!

Great ratchet, definitely recommend. I use it often doing install work. I like the size & the weight of it. It’s a quality tool.
