South Africa's Border War 1966-89

It’s a great book I was already aware of but it is also rare and hard to come by. Tells the story straightforward but is sympathetic to the troopies from SA…and rightly so. For a time, allies of the West kicked the commies out of Southwest Africa…pretty much all on their own, black and white South Africans fighting side by side to defeat the Soviet/Chinese armed Cubans and their Angolan vassals.

A detailed, factual history of the War with many photos. The strategies, tactics, training, equipment, politics etc.are all there. A must - read for war buffs, particularly those who are interested in the making oftoday's Southern Africa.

having grown up and been part of the war. I find the book filled in some gaps that i did not even known then. I find the book to be a non-bias view. Thank you

As a veteran of the campaign, this brought some memories. A very good book for anyone interested in the forgotten bush-wars of the time.

L'ouvrage rend bien compte de la vie et de la guerre dans la "guerre du Bush". Écrit juste après les événements, les auteurs s'appuient essentiellement sur les positions sud-africaines. Mais les photos sont remarquables et rendent bien compte de l'âpreté des combats.Une réédition salutaire.
