It grinds coffee really well and makes an excellent gift set!
What is said in the description of this product appears to be true. Despite a very reasonable price, it is well designed and made and presented - with a heart! I used this grinder (while camping) only a few times but it grinds very well to an intended setting with very little waste (probably <5%), so there is not much to clean. After reading that manual grinding was a little hard and took long time to some customers, I was expecting that but to me it was fairly easy and took just 2-3 min at a medium grind setting for 1-2 cups of coffee. I felt enough grinding power because the handle is long enough and the burr worked very well, at least while new. It was fairly easy to add beans, unlike what someone said. The nut stayed in place (but don't loose it when disassembled! :-) It was easy to recover ground coffee, and frankly there was almost no residue remaining to clean with a supplied brush... The supplied measuring spoon with a built-in clamp is also handy. Overall, it does have an impression of a gift set. Most importantly, coffee was ground consistently, within only a few minutes (worth it!) and tastes great! The only cons so far is that the grinder profile is fairly narrow (since it is designed to be more portable), so ergonomics is not too great (but a long handle really helps). It is necessary to hold the grinder firmly in place, but no problem for a few minutes. The designers and makers of this product did a great job, and I highly recommend this grinder!Update: After 6 months of regular use, the grind became very course and no adjustments, re-assembly or cleaning made allowed a fine grind. Ok, the grinder was inexpensive, but I am taking one star off. I will now invest in more expensive manual grinder, which I hope will be more durable.

The stainless steel parts are well-made of good quality materials and fit perfectly
Update 4/18/2017. I really like the grinder. Takes me less than a minute to grind enough for a cup of coffee and at about 4 clicks it comes out good for espresso. In about a minute, my espresso machine is ready to make it, so perfect timing too. Overall, very happy with the grinder. If I had to change anything, I'd get a taller grab-handle so I can hold it more securely. And make the bottom with sharp edges instead of round, so it would work as a tamper too (it is the right diameter for my coffee machine).Original review below=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=The stainless steel parts are well-made of good quality materials and fit perfectly. Very easy to put together and disassemble. The inside piece that holds the shaft and the rotating half of the ceramic grinder is made of plastic, so the grinder is not perfectly centered, and even if it is, it is very easy to push off-center with a finger or I imagine s coffee bean that gets sucked to be ground. Thus I suspect the uniformity of the grounds is not great, but it seems good enough for the occasional coffee I make in a manual espresso machine. It is a bit of a chore to use a manual grinder (not this particular unit's fault, all are like that), so it is not for everyone. It takes about 250 turns of the handle to produce enough grounds for a single cup of espresso. Yes, it is easy to turn, and pretty quick (maybe 1-2 minutes) per cup. For fun I connected my electric drill to the top and I got ready coffee in just s few seconds :). The handle needs to be removed and the top twisted out to fill the grinder. The handle is secured with a nut that is easy to take off and put on, and the handle stays put securely when in use. The rotating end of the handle is made of metal and feels good in the hand and sturdy. This little task to fill with beams adds a few extra seconds to the couple of minutes it takes to grind. If the axel was better secured, especially at the bottom, near the grinder, this would be an excellent hand-grinder. As it is, it is just OK, but for the price it is a good value.

Really Good! But a Couple Design Improvements Would Make it Perfect.
Works really well, but there are a couple things I'd improve if I were the product designer, hence the reduction of 1 star:1. Really lightly-roasted beans are very difficult to grind. This is a characteristic of light roasted beans though, due to their "greener" nature. It's not so much the fault of this grinder, but there's one design improvement they could make that would help immensely: see #2 below.2. For tougher grinds, like light beans, the housing can be a little too slick to hang onto. It'll actually slip and spin in your hand. A silicone or rubber sleeve would help immensely, and I actually use a piece of that non-slip stuff you can buy at any grocery/hardware store to maintain a solid grip.3. Another really helpful feature would be some kind of marks on the grind-dial to let you know where you need to set it. In other words, currently you just have to grind (and potentially waste) a few beans to figure out where to set the grind-size. Then, once you get it set, if you ever accidentally move it, you have no idea where it was... and have to again waste a few beans to get the grind-size back where you want it. Some kind of markings would be a huge help.Aside from those little quibbles, this grinder does a great job. Nice, even grind, and on any beans that are normal-roast to dark-roast it's pretty easy to grind. If they could add my #2 and #3 suggestions above, this grinder would be perfect.FYI, people with excessive hand arthritis will probably struggle with this grinder.
