"Ultrasoft" is relative, but my favorite sheets yet
Let me begin by emphasizing that these are simply my favorite sheets. If comparing softness to other types of sheets, however, you may be sorely disappointed if you are looking for "soft" sheets. If you want fuzzy softness, I recommend looking at flannel or fleece. I find that these type tend to pill and look worn quickly, and they trap in perspiration if I get too warm and sweat. On the other hand, if you are looking for a silky-smooth softness, I recommend opting for the Pinzon 500 thread count pima cotton sheets. They were too smooth for my liking, as they made me feel like I was wrapped in the material that tents are made of. They trapped in the moisture as well. These 300 thread count sheets, however, have a subtle softness that makes them feel plush as I lay against them, yet slightly rough if I move my hand quickly over them - a dichotomy that I love. These sheets most remind me of the the sheets I have enjoyed at some of my favorite hotels. They do wrinkle a fair amount... check out a jersey knit sheet if that's what you care about. I found that untwisting the sheets after washing, before putting them in the drier, helped to minimize the wrinkles.I used to be under the misconception that for more luxurious, comfortable sheets I needed to get expensive, high thread count sheets. Then I looked at some sheet purchasing tips online and realized that the high thread count sheets trap in the heat and moisture that make me so uncomfortable (my body naturally perspires a lot--I don't do well in humid climates). However, don't think that the lower thread count of these sheets makes them cheap or low quality. Brand new, this set weighed 1652g (3lb 10.3oz). After one wash cycle, these sheets weighed 1652g, vs 1656g for the Pinzon 500TC set. That's 97.7%, or nearly the same weight overall for the 300TC as the 500TC sheets. I surmise that the higher thread counts just use thinner thread. It is unavoidable, however, that the lower thread count allows some colors to show through. In order to both protect my pillows and to ensure they look crisp white, I purchased the Pinzon Cotton Pillow Protectors to go under the pillow cases. None of the rest of the sheet set shows when the bed is made, so I don't care that my bright red Hudson's Bay wool blanket can be seen through the sheet. It's the miniscule holes between the stitching that make these sheets so breathable and comfortable to me.The fitted sheet fits my overly thick mattress just fine. Stains from body oils, blood, etc. have washed right out with regular laundering, keeping my sheets crisp white without needing special care.

Pretty good, I think
I've been using white Pinzon flannel sheets for years and years that were finally starting to get a bit tattered and had suffered from quite a few food spills. They're quite nice, though, and I may buy them again--although I'll go with a darker color.I bought these in Dove, which is also called Platinum on the package. The reason I mention that I am coming from flannel sheets is that I can't quite remember what normal sheets are supposed to feel like. I'm not a fan of sateen sheets--I knew that--at least I think I did, now I'm not so sure! My goal was to find a non-sateen sheet, and these definitely fit the bill. For some reason, I had a memory that I disliked the feeling of over-slippery sheets, which is what I thought sateen is.I do have to say I like the color a lot. At first when I got them, they looked battle-ship grey, and seeing that on the package they are called Platinum rather than Dove was upsetting. But it's one of those colors that changes depending on how it catches the light. And I now like it.And they certainly are what I thought I was looking for: crisp and not overly soft. They feel thick and sturdy. I like them. I'm starting to wonder whether maybe sateen was the type I really like, though! I wouldn't say that these sheets are rough, but maybe a bit in that direction. They feel a bit "dry" perhaps. It's definitely not a smooth surface that you could glide your hand over.I don't think I can complain about these sheets because they're what I was looking for--I'm just not sure if I was looking for the right thing!

Excellent sheets for the price
I hate buying sheets online because what is silky soft to some people might be 80 grit sandpaper to others. I have a set of quality sheets from a well known supply store, but I was in the market for a set of summer sheets as I sleep very warm. I chose these sheets as they had a vast number of good reviews, and because they were inexpensive. After washing and drying them per the directions (cold water, low heat cycle), they felt good. It's difficult to describe their feel, but they're not as soft as, say, a quality cotton tee shirt, but they're not uncomfortably rough either, and I am pretty picky about how soft my sheets are. If you hold them up to the light, it comes through, but they are not anywhere near what you could call see through. These sheets are large, and would easily fit a thick deep pocket mattress. The reason I give these sheets 4 stars is because the elastic band on the fitted sheet is quite narrow, about ¼". For comparison, my other set of sheets had an elastic band of about 1". Right now they aren't having any trouble staying on my mattress, but as they get worn this may be an issue. All in all I would recommend these sheets for people like me who sleep warm. They are inexpensive, soft, and aside from the narrow elastic band on the fitted sheet, perfect. I will update this review if I start seeing signs of wear and deterioration.
