AMD A Series Processor 3.1 4 AD7600YBJABOX

Bought this for a mini-ITX build I did for my inlaws. The performance from the 4 CPU cores is great for multi-tasking and handles mostly everything you can throw at it. The combination of decent integrated GPU and low price really make this a great deal. It is also nice that all I have to do is toss in a discrete graphics card and the computer can easily game as well. I did not use the included heatsink so I cannot comment on its noise level or effectiveness. I ended up using a spare heatsink I had which was originally meant for a Phenom X4 with 140watt TDP, so what I have on it right now is overkill. But it was important to me that the computer stay cool and quiet since it was placed in the kitchen. Cons: I went to Youtube and tried playing 4K video. Unfortunately, the computer choked and the computer's FPS bounced between 3FPS to less than 1FPS. This isn't really a bummer since I ended up using a 1080p monitor with the computer, but for anyone thinking of pairing this with a 4K monitor, you might want to consider a discrete graphics option if 4K content is your intent. Being my first APU build, I was not really sure what to expect. Now that I have built one, I am surprised that this platform is not more popular. The CPUs really work great together and provide amazing performance. Also, I ran some gaming benchmarks and found the computer to be proficient at that as well. Based on my experience, I will likely build more APU based systems in the future.

This cpu is good if don't have a graphics card. I used it for about 3 to 4 months I played minecraft, left 4 dead 2, smite, dota, some 2d games and all in ultra settings over 60 f0s. It's a very good processor for those types of games. If you try to compare it to the Xbox 360 it's really good probably best for 720p but you can still play in 1080p. Or 900p witch is what I played at. Also know that I did play games at 900p and well over 60ps ultra settings on games I mentioned. Over all great for non intensive gaming maybe In older games that are on the Xbox 360/ps3. Also make sure to get fast and a lot of ram maybe like 8 at minimum but really 16 would be best for this at 2133mhz. You can allocate 2gb of ram to the apu and the rest for the system. I did not over clock this cup but I did get high temps in a well ventilated case I was sitting at about 70 degress celcius on idle stock cooler. This is normal apparently for an AMD APU. Would not recommend this is 2017 unless you are broke and can't afford anything else for a year and don't trust used hardware even EBay and you just can't wait and have at least 200 dollars go for it. For playing old games not new ones it does retry good and smite also run on high settings at 60fps up :) . I have been using this chip for about two months now in my HTPC which has 16GB RAM, GTX 750ti, and this chip (at stock speed) running in a tiny case with a 350w psu and it has performed beyond my initial expectations. While its performance does suffer when it is in direct competition with its intel counterparts (some i3's and all i5s) it is a excellent affordable "quad core" (which is debatable) which allows me to have decent multithreaded performance at the sub 80 dollar level. I play games on my TV at 1080p and for the most part the chip runs smoothly. Plus the modifiable TDP is great for low power HTPC builds. The down side would be that it cannot be overclocked and can may struggle on extremely heavy CPU loads. but in comparison to the A10 you get far more value if all you intend to do is stream or light gaming just make sure your RAM is high speed (above 1866mhz). I would recommend this APU as it has made a decent HTPC/ backup gaming rig for me. It is a great buy if you want a budget chip quad core at sub $80.

Incredible performance in such a small energy efficient low cost package. I have this in a minibox m350 case with the noctua low profile cooler. I am using the pico psu 150 watt combo. My suggestion, I would suggest going with a slightly larger case and not to use the pico psu. It's neat to have something this small, but even at the 45watt TDP setting, this apu produces more heat than I like for this case. The reason I gave the apu 4 stars is because of the inadequate cooler that comes with it. I had to install the noctua low profile 120mm unit in order to keep it cool enough in this small case. It does okay with just this cooler, but I did order a small noctua fan for the case as well, just to help me sleep at night and keep the temps just a little lower. (It gets as hot as 65 degrees C under full load after 30 mins of gameplay or so, this is with only the noctua cooler and no case fan. It is still pretty quiet. Word of warning, make sure you give the thermal paste plenty of break in time before you start throwing demanding games at it. Also, if you use insist on using this case, make sure you use the noctua cooler, use the msi a88xi mainboard, and get a MICROSATA SS with a standard sata adapter, not the 2.5" ssd. The 2.5" ssd does not fit in this case if you use a cpu cooler....unless you modify it slightly like I did. I think it will be cheaper and you will be overall more pleased using a slightly larger case with a more standard psu, maybe like the Antec Vesa case...although 90 watt psu is about 10 watts too low. Anyway, back to the apu. With 8Gb AMD R9 2133mhz ddr3, the apu running at 45 watts TDP (maxes around 90 watts under full load), the msi A88ix mainbaord, and an ssd 6gb/s drive, this PC gets a Windows 7 64 bit experience rating of 6.8 overall. To me, in such a small unit, this is incredible. Everything feels instant. This apu seemed to under perform in benchmarks, however it seemed to run great with games. I ran Metro 2033 in 720p at High settings, turned off tesselation and DOF, and turned down AA and Filtering as far as it is allowed, and it was as more smooth than many console games I've played. Yes, this is no overclock, and 45 watts TDP. At around $100, for cpu and gpu, it is a steal. My full rig cost around $600 (this includes cost of Windows 7). This is still more than it has to cost, but $100 for a gpu and cpu combo that perform like this is incredible. Very happy with this purchase. This PC will actually be my wife's office PC. She wanted something that was very snappy, could run multiple tasks at once while streaming videos, audio, or recording. She needed something she could easily knock out some tasks between sessions, instead of spending half the time waiting on the PC to come on or load whatever software she was using. I think she will be very pleased with how much more she is able to accomplish now, as being able to load a webpage from the time you push the power button is less than 12 seconds. I thought I was just being fooled by the ssd drive, but when I started bench testing it with games like Metro 2033, I was made aware of the incredible performance per dollar, watts, and size. It's nearly half the size of an xbox360, yet it blows the xbox 360 out of the water. I now know that this is overkill for my wife, but that's okay.

The ability to live with the onboard GPU and upgrade to a discrete card later was perfect for me. I put the A8-7600 in an asrock fm2a88x extreme6+ motherboard with 16gb of 2133mhz corsair vengeance memory, a samsung evo SSD, an old 500gb WD black I had laying around, and a few paychecks later I bought an Asus rog strix RX 460. To put it simply, I was blown away by how capable and quick this system was for the <500 dollars I paid for it. I had subsisted on a laptop and ipad diet for the past few years and I really missed having a capable desktop. I wasn't expecting much with my budget, but I was honestly blown away by just how fast "entry level" has become these past few years. the kaveri exceeded my wildest dreams. I'm not a heavy gamer by any stretch, but it handled ARMA 3 just fine and DCS world pretty well. If you're an "upgrade path" rather than a "buy it all at once" kind of builder, you can't go wrong with this chip. WITH THAT SAID, I am considering the athlon x4 880k, BUT not because the APU can't handle what I throw at it, but because I have friends who would like to start building PCs and I'd love to set them up with this chip.

I am no expert and this is only my 3rd PC build, but for my purpose, this processor worked perfectly. I built a PC for my son to play entry-level video games (Minecraft, Roblox and the like) which is does without any issues. With this processor and its discrete GPU I was able to slap together a very affordable PC that is great for a young child to play games, do homework and stream videos. Looking back I probably should have purchased a better motherboard so I could expand the memory, but for now 8GB of 2133MHz memory works fine. Bought this processor to upgrade a work desktop from it's previous A6-5400k dual core. System performance has definitely improved in daily use, and the integrated R7 graphics are much better for slow-day casual gaming. My only complaint about this is that it arrived with 3 bent pins. Luckily I noticed this before installing and was able to straighten them with no damage. In another case if someone had just tried to install it without inspection it would definitely have resulted in broken pins and a dead CPU. I docked two stars for this, as it could have potentially damaged the motherboard socket as well. Overall very happy with this purchase, it was a relatively inexpensive but very beneficial upgrade to the computer.

as a avid builder i have fall'in in love with these apu's, and this one is my favorite, price point, power, ease of instalation and functionality make this in incredable deal for a entry gaming rig, the FM2+ micro/mini boards out are inexpensive and can handle quite a bit, making form factor projects a breeze like HTPC/Steamboxes simple and powerfull, this chip on its own will handle 4k htpc setups, always pair with 1866 or above ram ofc, but if your into gaming, no worries there either, you can pair this with a R7 240/250 ( just not sapphire it seems different tech ) i went with XFX 2gig oc's on a few builds and every person was impressed that i built them for, normal cost for a little decent gaming rig? 80$ for a R7 240 2gig, 50-60 for MoBo, 40$ for 8 gig's ddr3 1866, 65$ 240 ssd ( to get you started ) 50$ evga 500 PSU, and many mini atx cases for around 30-40 dollars, and a dvd rom drive 15-20$$ and 85$ for this chip. 425-440$$ in parts for a fun little gaming rig that will impress isn't a bad deal at all.

Awesome processor nothing can beat for the price and performance (IGPU). Can easily play most of the modern games with 25 to 40 fps depending on the settings which is more than enough for gaming for normal user (not core gamers who need full high end details in graphics). This processor is better than current APU's available in the market in single core performance and can do wonders while configured tdp to 45w in gaming with out huge compromise on fps. Just loved the configurable tdp available with this processor 45w/65w. My specs: A8-7600(3.1/3.8 ghz) configured at 45w in bios. Asus a88xm-a USB 3.1 Samsung ssd 250 gb Crucial ballistic 8gb and fury hyper-x 8gb both configured with 1866mhz speed. could not able to overclock it 2133mhz due to system instability. Corsair h45 liquid cooler which controls the temp below 38c-40c under gaming and 30-32c on idle. Antec X11-t cabinet with pre installed fans front and back for in and out flow. Additionally I have added cooler master fan on top of the case to pull the air out. This make the motherboard temp under 30c always. But makes noise due to additional fans installed in MB. Verwende sie in der Firma unter Fedora da AMD GPU's gut unterstützt sind, im Multi Monitor Betrieb, kämpfte vorher mit einer Nvidia Lösung, jetzt kein Stress mehr. Alles zusammen auf einem A68H R2.0 Board von Asrock, Kingston 16 GB DDR3L RAM und einer alten 500GB Crucal MX100 SSD, auf 45 Watt eingestellt und mit dem CPU Kühler der dabei ist in einem In Win Chopin Gehäuse. Der ganze Rechner hat mich ca. 500€ gekostet wenn man eine aktuelle SSD dazurechnet. Läuft seit Wochen durch und null Probleme, fahre mehrere VM's mit KVM drauf, alles flüssig und recht Stromsparend. Die Lüfterregelung funktioniert gut und der Rechner ist eigentlich trotz des einfachen CPU Kühlers von AMD im Büro nicht hörbar, das ist angenehm. Sie hat mehr als genug Performance fürs arbeiten, zum Zocken habe ich sie nie benutzt, ist aber von den Specs her da sicher nicht so geeignet.
