One of the best things I added to my Model Y
2023 Model Y LR AWD. This installed reasonably easily - took about 45 minutes. It was straightforward install, and I'm not handy. Looks good. Lined up great with the dash - no gap that some people mention. And just having the swivel feature is just fantastic. Not that I ever swivel is much; I turn it all the way to the left and angle it up and it stays there. I don't know why Tesla doesn't install this is n every Model. I know the X and S have the electronic version, but you'd think they would at least give the 3 and Y the manual version.

As advertised, Easy to install, Holds well
Initially I was concerned that the main piece was frozen. I used W40 and applied a bit of force to move it back and forth few times prior to installing. Once installed, it takes a bit of pressure to rotate but that's what I like about it as it is very stable. Installation was straightforward, the cover piece did not fit perfectly, maybe due to imperfection in the car. Nonetheless the gap is hidden and not an issue. The screen is a bit lower but does not impact opening the top cover in my 2018 M3. Higher screen would have been preferable for visibility but I understand the limitation of the mechanism. Overall happy with the purchase.

Works as Expected
This product really enhances the utility of the Tesla screen. Very pleased with the result. The only area of concern for me was disconnecting the temp sensor and the cable to the screen. Once I figured that out, the rest was straight forward. Couple tips for people like me that didn’t know what to expect: First, the kit has almost all the tools you need, except a 10mm socket. Grab that before you begin. Second, the new swivel bracket needs to be rotated for the rear cover install. I had to get a 15mm socket to loosen it. Once it moved, it was fine. Had to exert quite a bit of pressure. Don’t do it once it’s installed! Move it before or you may damaged the screen frame. Lastly, remember to do a hard reset of your Tesla (press both scroll wheels at the same time and hold a few seconds), or you won’t get anywhere, and may think you’ve damaged the screen.Great product. Just don’t be intimidated by the install.

Installation takes time and is not as easy as it looks.
I am happy with the final installation (see the two pics). I was skeptical at first because the tools that I received were used and the packaging was poor. But the parts fit perfectly and nothing was missing. The touchscreen was definitely lower so I can only see the bottom half of my phone. Plus, the under screen storage I had can no longer be used. But I love the way my installation turned out.

Buyer Beware, Big Disappointment
The media could not be loaded. Where do I even begin? To preface, I am pretty handy, work on cars, handle home repairs, etc. But this product was probably one of the most frustrating things I've ever installed. The biggest issue I had was it was impossible to loosen the bolt that controls the screen rotation. I saw in someone's review you need to be Thor to do so, I can't think of a better way to put it. I almost dislocated my elbow trying to loosen the bolt. It drove me nuts trying to muscle it, since when you watch the installation videos, others were easily able to adjust the tightness. In the end I used WD-40, which was a lot of fun to clean up but helped with the swiveling but I still couldn't loosen the bolt. Following the install I found the WD-40 actually provided the right amount loosening, without needing to adjust the bolt. After getting everything on I realized the housing left this huge gap that cannot be rectified, I moved the housing around, popped it out and back in, to no avail. It ended up chipping my trim, see pictures. I'm just unbelievably frustrated with this product. I'm almost afraid to take it off now since I'm afraid something else might break.I'll tell you what, the swivel works great, but the installation and the resulting end product makes me wish I never bought this thing. If you roll the dice, I hope you have much better luck.

Great upgrade! Model 3 and Y should come with this from the factory.
I bought this for my 2022 Model Y. I think this is one of the best upgrades you can make to your Model 3 or Y. Honestly, I really think the cars should come this way from the factory. Having the screen angled towards the driver just feels so much more natural as well. I’ve got the version that only rotates side to side, I feel like that’s enough for me. If you’re especially tall or short though, the one that tilts might be the better option for you. It also moves the screen out and inch or so and down just a little. And I think this actually also feels much more natural, as if the controls are now right at your fingertips. Also, for those, like me, who are old enough to need bifocals, moving the screen down is a big improvement because I now don’t have to tilt my head backwards as much to view the screen through the bifocal.Quality is excellent. The aluminum piece, which is what holds the screen is very sturdy and well made. All the plastic pieces fit perfectly as well. It does take some force to move the screen, which I think is the way it should be. Once you put it in position, it stays put, but it is not so hard to move a child couldn’t do it either.Installation won’t be too hard for anyone with a little mechanical ability. I have lots of mechanical ability and to me it was a piece of cake. But as long as you have a little ability, you’ll be fine. Installation took me about an hour. The only issue I have is that the instructions are awful and practically useless. The pictures are tiny and the English is so bad there are parts where I have no idea what they are trying to say. However, there are plenty of videos on YouTube that explain installation and I’d recommend you watch one of those. The instructions are my one and only gripe and while I do think that’s a real problem, I also just think that this product so well made, such a huge improvement to your Tesla, and for a very reasonable price, that I still have to give it 5 stars.
