10Gbps USB3.1 Gen2 Type-C PCIe Expansion Card ASM3142 Chip PCI-E 3.0 X2 Adapter with Internal 20-Pin Type-E Front Panel Connector Desktop PCIe Riser Card

There are two versions of this card PCI-E 2X and PCI-E 1X. I'm not sure what the difference in speed is but I'd recommend the 2X version if you have an available slot. It will work fine in a PCI-E 16X slot. My NZXT 510 case has a usb-c port on it but my motherboard didn't have built in connectivity for that. I used this board to enable my PC case port and it works great. It's at least as fast as the usb-c port on my motherboard's built in usb-c port. The product comes with a mini cd-rom that includes the driver. I did not need to us it as Windows 11 detected the card automatically. The card came with a standard plate installed but a smaller plate is also included if you need to install it in a small form factor PC. The card does not have any external usb-c ports so only buy this if you need to enable a port on your PC case.

My Corsair 4000D Airflow case has a front USB-C port, but my motherboard didn't have an onboard header to connect it. I went awhile with the port simply being unusable, but eventually I wanted the port to be accessible... This card was an easy thing to slot in. Works perfectly with no fuss whatsoever; I highly recommend it to anyone in the same situation as I am. It's a cheap and easy way to gain access to that last front IO port!

January 2025 update This card has become intermittent and can’t be trusted anymore. I lowered my rating from 4 stars to 1. Original comments: Windows 10 discovered this card automatically and installed the appropriate driver. All was working perfectly until I decided to upgrade(?) the driver from the included 3 inch "Driver Disc". BIG MISTAKE! This broke Window's ability to recognize the card and it was no longer worked. I was able to delete the bad driver after scouring the web for a couple hours on how to delete drivers, and now it works again with the Windows-installed driver. BTW, if you need to do this the bad driver's filename is asmtxhci. I would have given this 5 stars if it weren't for the bad driver that the manufacturer included.

Used this for the front-panel connector on my new case to work with my older motherboard. Works like a champ. Windows 10 found it and installed drivers, and it's reading/writing well, and quickly.

If you put your computer to sleep, it does not activate the usbc port on wake. Making it rather useless for my ubikey setup. Once you log back in, it works fine.

Pretty straightforward, it lets you connect the USB-C header from your case to your motherboard. No extra power cord required. Just find an open PCIe 2x or bigger slot, plug it in, and plug in the header cable. Immediately started working on my tower

A quick and dirty test with a NVMe to USB enclosure revealed that this is indeed working at 10Gbps. Considering overhead and other variables, 870MB/s is exactly where I expect it to be. Is ASMedia, in my experience these chipsets are pretty solid. A great buy!

The type c connection on the board is really weak. I feel like some extra support for the connector is well needed. Works great but the fact that mine came in partial broken but working at least gives it two stars.

A great little gadget solves big problem. Works like a charm. Does what it supposed to do. Will recommand it.

Die Karte ließ sich einfach einbauen, etwas unterschätzt habe ich, dass für USB 3.1 Gen 2 2 PCIe Lanes brauche, ich also letztlich einen PCIe x16 Steckplatz opfern musste. Nicht schlimm. SLI und solche Scherze sind ja eh out. Die Verpackung ist chinesisch schlicht, die Treiber CD/DVD heutzutage überflüssig (wird von Windows 10 automatisch erkannt). Ich habe die Version, bei der der Type E Stecker nach hinten weggeht, der Anschluss war kein Problem und die Verbindung scheint stabil. Ob die Karte die vollen 10 GBit erreicht, konnte ich mangels passendem Equipment noch nicht ausprobieren.

Durch diese Erweiterungskarte hatte mein Motherboard einen Kurzschluss. Jetzt kann ich mir auch gleich ein Motherboard kaufen das nen USB-C anschluss hat und brauch diesen Schrott nicht mehr!
