Bucky40 Blinks No Pressure Eye Mask for Travel & Sleep

Knockoff product, dangerous to eye health
UPDATE: The liner fell off within the first week or two, and that’s when I realized it’s a different material than the Bucky masks I’ve bought at the store. I shrugged and kept using it, but eventually, because this fabric isn’t actually breathable, it damaged my eyes. The eye doctor said my “eye tissue is compromised “ meaning it’s scratched and won’t heal because it hasn’t been getting enough oxygen. She said it looks like I’ve been sleeping in my contact lenses (but I never do). Save yourself the doctor bills, eye pain, and trouble. Buy this directly from the store in-person and get the ones that actually have breathable fabric. I haven’t been able to wear my contact lenses for three months now because of this knockoff.——————This part of the review is for the ones I bought at the store:I love love love these & can’t sleep without them. I have two pairs at home (one by each of the two beds I alternate sleeping in, because of my back/neck issues), and a third one I leave in my travel kit, so I don’t accidentally forget to pack it.I really like that they have dented eye patches so that I can actually open my eyes while it’s on. This is more comfortable for me both psychologically and physically. (And helps me be able to position it to make sure NO light is peeking through.)I’ve been using these for over a decade and would give them ten stars if I could.

Poor quality and even worse customer service.
I have purchased over 25 Bucky 40 Winks sleep masks over my lifetime. For the first two months they are the best sleep mask I have ever worn, comfortable and keeps the light out. However after two months the adhesive on the mask itself loosens and the mask separates making it useless. Bucky website states a one year warranty. When I contacted the company the manager I communicated with was rude, domineering and outright dismissive. Despite telling her that their own website states one year warranty she laughed and said 'what do you expect for the price." I repeatedly asked for one of the owners to communicate with me prior to leaving this review and deciding on whether or not to file a complaint with my state attorney general and never heard back from them. Beware of this company before purchasing because if it is in any way like my situation nothing but heartache.

Perfect Eyelash Extensions Protection
I got lash extensions for the first time, and at 38 weeks pregnant I can't sleep on my back, though God I want to. I scoured the web, and folks, THIS is the mask you want to protect your eyelash extensions during sleep. I tried the similarly priced Unimi, and the $25 Manta (big soft goggle style) sleep mask, and neither of them fit my volume set of extensions, and had a tendency to collapse around the eyes if pressure is put on the face. Those were just the other two I settled on actually purchasing. I also spent hours reading reviews of too many sleep mask across the internet to find the right mask for extensions, and I hope this review saves you from that. This is the one you need.Pros: This Bucky mask gives ample room for your lashes, you can open and close eyes without eyelashes touching the mask. It's made entirely of soft foam but somehow it doesn't collapse when you sleep on your face, continuing to provide a protective bubble around your eyes and lashes, which was exactly what I was looking for. Absolutely no pressure around the eyes. Added bonus, the silky fabric and flower pattern also makes me feel like a movie star.Cons: the mask does ride up a bit during the night, I had to adjust it once, pulling it back down during the night, but woke up with it in place. If you're maniacal about it you could add some sort of rubber tape to the edges to keep it from slipping, which would do it. It also does not contour perfectly around my nose so a *tiny* bit of light seeps around the bridge of the nose. With your eyes closed it's still pitch black, so for me this was not a problem, but if seeing a tiny bit of light in your periphery with your eyes open is a deal breaker, this mask might not be for you, unless of course you, like me, are primarily wearing this to protect lashes, make up, or feel no pressure on your eyes. I will say, I woke up later than I usually do after wearing this mask and woke up in pitch black, not knowing what time it was, only to take the mask off and see full bright daylight surrounding me, so it worked at keeping me asleep and shielded from light. But I never usually wear a sleep mask unless I'm on an airplane so I'm not the "this the perfect sleep mask for sleep" reviewer type, though as someone who doesn't typically wear a mask while I sleep, this did not bother me at all, which is its own bonus. Speaking of travel- though this mask is obviously far superior to those lazy non contoured fabric eye coverings, and I would definitely wear this over those on an airplane, especially in business class with lay flat beds, this is not the sleep mask I would buy specifically for flying coach. So if you're about to take a redeye in coach, you don't give a darn about things like eyelashes or make up, and are looking for the perfect mask, I'd recommend you keep up your search. I'll point you toward the Manta I tried, which I believe would work well for travel zzzs.

Cheap and fragile, get the Bucky Eden instead.
I was looking for a replacement for my Bucky Eden night mask (unavailable on Amazon at the time) I’ve had since 2014 and thought this was it. It wasn’t. This is the “lightweight no pressure” version. Incredibly thin made from polyurethane foam and a polyester fabric which started coming apart in around 6 months. Keep in mind there is very little cushioning - pretty much the equivalent of wrapping a T-shirt around your face. Some light does come through at the edges unless you wrap the band tightly around your head almost to the point where it’s uncomfortable to sleep in. I’ve had better night masks given to me for free on airplane rides.Luckily however the Bucky Eden night mask became available not too long ago. I would highly recommend that mask instead of this one. The difference between the two is night and day. The Eden has more comfortable fabric (almost some kind of suede) with thicker cushioning and the band doesn’t wrap as tightly around your face. Furthermore it does a better job at blocking light around the edges. Finally, the Eden lasted me for several years before the band lost its elasticity and the Bucky lightweight no pressure mask (this one) only lasted about 6 months. The Eden is only $20 while this no pressure mask is $10.Pass this one up and get the Bucky Eden instead. Thank me later.

Lovely eye mask!
This is our second one, first one has lasted almost a year and is still usable just a little tatty! They are very comfortable and have excellent blackout material and seal all round stopping any light leaking in.Good quality elastic and Velcro. Best eye mask for women who have lash extensions as they don’t rub

Excellent purchase esp if you use a CPAP
Yes, these allow you to blink your eyes and they do not press down on your eyelids. So very comfortableIf you use a CPAP, like me, they also fit very nicely and do not block or interfere with my mask (Simplus)Highly recommended!

Really disappointed
I'd had a Bucky eye mask that lasted a while, so despite living in the UK, I decided to have one shouted from the US via Amazon. It has only lasted a few months and now the inner lining of the mask is pulling away from the foam mask. Really disappointed in the quality.

Overpriced and overrated. Avoid
Overpriced and overrated, falls apart after less than 3 months of standard use.

Perfect for wearers of eyelash extensions
I couldn't recommend this any more highly. I have been using sleep masks for years and this one is by far the comfiest. My old one seemed to be making my eyelashes grow in shorter and straighter because of the nightly pressure on my eyes, after a week they're getting back their natural curl which is great (it would be perfect if you wear eyelash extensions) absolutely love it.
