I keeps freshness a long time because it is powdered and I have never had it go bad ever.

Q: Is this the same (or similar) flavor they put on lime tortilla chips that you can buy at the store?

This tastes extremely similar to real lime. When I make homemade tortilla chips/strips I mix this with a little salt and sprinkle it over the hot chips/strips. I think this has a better & stronger lime flavor than the store bought stuff.

They do have strawberry, raspberry, and peach lemonades, and black cherry limeade, but no berries on their own as far as I know. The lemonades and limeade are sweetened mainly with Stevia.

How much sugar/calrories is actually in this product?  Malodextrin (corn sugar) is the 2nd ingredient, so it must have some - they just round-down.

Label says 0g sugar and <1g for total carbs for a serving size of 0.7 grams.  There are about 0.8 g in 1/4 tsp so a serving size is a bit less than that.  With such a small serving size, the sugars would not really be significant. There is an equivalency chart that says 1/2 teaspoon of the True Lime powder = 1 Tablespoon of lime juice.  The equivalency chart does go up to 4 tsp of powder = 1/2 cup of lime juice (and they suggest adding water).  I doubt I would ever use the powder in place of a 1/2 cup need for lime juice.  I like the powder for adding a splash of lime flavor so typically use 1/4 teaspoon or less.  I don't consider the sugars to be an issue since I use this for smaller needs, but if you are using teaspoons of the product, it might bump up to 1 gram of sugar eventually.  I love this product because I get to add lime flavor to dishes that I wouldn't normally do since I don't keep lime juice on hand.  Just added it to some fruit salad and a blueberry pie recently.  Great for chicken too (I also recommend the Lime, Garlic & Cilantro from True Lime for meat dishes).
