Good variable speed fan control at good price
This device is easy to install and works well on my exhaust fan. It was stated in info that fan would him at lower speeds but it would not damage fan. So far so good!

Works fine for me.
I bought the 20in iliving exhaust fan, then realized that I need this switch. I have used it about 10 times for different durations of time. I just read some reviews before I wrote this. I don't have any abnormal humming or vibrations. The fan does have a slight shake, but that could be helps with more fan support, rubber bushings to absorb anything else. Some fans may be slightly unbalanced. I will update if it does fail. Probably with just replace with a on off switch if it does. Only use for slow speeds in my garage would be to pull the fumes out from my kerosene heater.

Works fine until it fails
Failed in 5 month but ILiving replaced it promptly. If the replacement fails in 5 months or so I will updated this and downgrade to one star.

Godawful Product!
This is a godawful product and has no business being sold in the American market. The build quality is cheap. I used it with an 18" iLIVING Exhaust Fan, and it lasted all of 22 minutes before starting to fail. In less than an hour it was completely inoperable. In addition, when coupled to the 18" fan it made an annoying hum, and never quite let the fan generate full power. When coupled directly to the mains, the fan generated full power and ran quietly. I don't know why it made the annoying hum when coupled to the fan. I would not recommend this product.

Cools the entire house
The fan was set into an existing window. We did have to make a custom "framework around it so that we can easily put it in when needed ( the summer here in Wisconsin ) and remove it once it gets cooler. It exhausts the entire 2400 ft house when we turn it on in the evening when the air is cooler. So far we have only had one night that it did not seem to cool the house adequately ( It was 100 degrees in the day and only cooled down to the 90's in the evening ) until about 2:00 AM.

Broke in 3 weeks.
Had this installed to run the matching fan by an electrician. Three weeks later one of the three I bought is defective. It won't run the fan fast enough to open the louvers. By the time the electrician figured out that it was the controller I am now a few days past the Amazon return date so will end up paying for another one. The other two work great.

It works
This shipment replaced an earlier one that did not work out of the box. The only delay was the day or so in shipping between the return and its replacement If I ever again need a fan speed control I'll buy this one.

Only thing is that it's big. Like, really big (depth wise). If you're using this in a normal single gang box, you'll be hard pressed to actually screw it down (oh yeah, it doesn't come with mounting hardware). You'll need to either use a deep box, or a box extender. If you're using a double gang, you can probably move the marretts off to the side and then get this in. You do have to crank it up to about 1/3 to get the motor/fan moving, then you can dial it back down to where you want. At anything less than about 90%, your motor WILL HUM. So don't be using this in a room you need silence! I have mine in a shop - so who cares. Decent price. Solid unit.

Absolute junk! I used this for about a month while it still worked as a speed controller. Then one day the fan was stopped and I knew the power wasn't out to the barn. I messed with the control and noticed that there was no speed control left, just full power. Very disappointing for something worth almost $70.00. This is rated 8 amps at 120 vac which is pretty decent but yeah they don't last much more than a month or two.

Works great

Quiet, functional. Be sure to turn all way off. A fairly large unit.

Works like a charm. It replaces one that became intermittent. Especially like that it starts with the low speed instead of full on then slows down as you turn the knob.
