Zodiac Breakaway Flea and Tick Collar for Cats, 13"

I can't speak much regarding the flea control because they made both of my cats sick. They had them on for a few days before there were any issues. It start just one cat a little sick to her stomach but got progressively worse. When my other cat started getting sick too I realized what it might be. I removed the collars and took a few days for the sick kittes to feel better but there wasn't any lasting issues. I'd never experienced anything like that before. It's possible they were just sensitive but be vigilant if you try this.

NOT GOOD FOR FLEAS OR TICKS.***HOWEVER*** They Work Great As An ID collar for your cat. I take a bright colored sharpie and right the cat's name, and then our home phone number on the collar before I put it on the cat. Every couple of weeks I go over it to keep it sharp and bright. JUST N CASE.Yes my cats are chipped, however that only works if they make it to a shelter with a chip reading device. If someone found my cat lost, they can just call me on the phone!!Better safe than sorry..We do a once a month flea treatment at home between the collarbones.I only replaced these collars once every... 9 months, maybe. Works great for IDS.*WE TRIED THE CUTE SNAPPING COLLARS WITH FANCY NAME TAGS ENGRAVED AND EVERYTHING . WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY .THEY BROKE THOSE OFF AND LOST THEIR NAME TAGS IN 1 HOUR.

Our indoor/outdoor cat has medium to long fur and 99% of the time we would find ticks around his neck and had to use the tick puller to remove them from the poor guys neck. Since (March 2016) using the Zodiac Breakaway flea and tick collar we haven't found a tick on him and the collar has "broke away" one time while it was on him. I'm not sure how as we found it on the ground. One thing should be noted is that we don't use just this product we also give our cat Capstar pill (monthly/as needed) for fleas and powder him with flea and tick powder (Monthly/as needed). In using the 3 products together, we found a significant reduction in ticks and no fleas on our cat. I plan on replacing the collar in August for maximum protection through the fall season. Tip: We write on the packaging the date of when the last time we gave him either a collar, Capstar, or flea powder so we can keep track of when the month is up. During the winter months, we tend to skip doses on purpose as they are not needed in our climate.

These flea collars cost a lot less than some other brands but are very efficient preventing fleas on my indoor cat. My cat has had no side effects. Of course they are Breakaway collars for safety and sometimes I have to replace them soon as I would like. However my cat is safe and protected from fleas as is my house. I buy them on a regular basis.

It does what it says on the box! Vermin be gone. Yeehaw. They don’t come back now, hear?I will say, it does smell strongly, but if you don’t mind an essential oil smell it’s not too bad.
