Perfect replacement fit
We replaced our fireplace screen after 32 years and this screen is perfect. The material is a nice gauge, which means it feels sturdy. My husband thought it was fairly easy to install and the style is just like our old screen. Paint seems well done and the pull handles are nice. We are very happy with our purchase and would recommend this fireplace screen.

Good looking replacement screen
We purchased this screen to replace a 60-yr-old version that was original to the house and was showing its age. The Midwest hearth screen is well made. The only challenge was cutting it down to fit the vertical dimension of our fireplace. While the cutting itself was straightforward, getting the a straight line of cuts along the bottom was challenging and required a template. It took forever to cut the screen down to size. This is not the fault of the screen but it is a factor to consider when making a purchase.

Perfect for my space!
I hsve a very large fireplace opening-77”, I ordered two sets of these for a custom rod I had made. They work perfectly! I love that I could order my exact length as well!

The mesh fits well and looks good in the fireplace
The little handles to open and close each mesh screen do not appear to the attach correctly to the mesh and protrude outward. The mesh fits well and looks good in the fireplace, but the handles to open and close the mesh stick out and do not lay flat.

Easy to install
My old screen lost its color and looked old. This screen was easy to install by removing two screws and I swapped out the old screen for the new in less than 10 minutes. Fits perfectly and my fireplace looks like new.

Midwest Hearth Fireplace Screens enhance your fireplace
We bought our house four years ago, and we have used our fireplace each winter. This past holiday season, our fireplace was in use 24/7 for several weeks. We noticed that the mesh curtains were falling off the rods and very difficult to open and close. i finally got around to replacing the screens with Midwest Hearth Fireplace Screen Mesh Curtains. What a difference these made! I can easily slide the curtains open and closed. No more struggling to close the screens after adding wood. The old screens were black, and I opted for antique brass to give the fireplace an accent color. We have a Heat & Glo fireplace and each curtain rod has one screw. These are located behind the frame, top center. Simply unscrew, slide the first ring onto the rod, place one of the pulls (between the first and second rings), and continue to the second ring and so on. It's that easy. I feel better knowing that we will have complete coverage to prevent embers from popping out of the fireplace onto the floor. Plus, our fireplace has a new, improved look!

Great & quick replacement for an old, rusty screen.
I had replaced a rusted on with this new one. Was it worth the $50? Yes. because it just makes the fireplace look so much better. I mean, I could have painted to old one and re-attached it to the top bar but this was easier and nicer. Before installing, I did take apart the existing system and painted everything so it all nicely matches. Looks like a brand new fireplace hearth.Do yourself a favor and just measure the existing one before buying a replacement. The instructions to add an inch, subtract one, etc. are too much. In the end, the instructions even say to just measure if you're unsure. That's what I did.

Quality product. Exactly what I was looking for.
I was hesitant purchasing this however once it arrived I found that it was easy to install and fits perfectly. We have had this for many years now and there is no wear and tear. It still looks like new!

Fireplace looks great
Our opening to our insert is 28.5 " X 18.5" so I ordered a 24" X 21" screen thinking I could cut the screen to fit the width. When I got the screen I tried hanging it before cutting it. Once it was hung I realized that it did not need to be cut to fit the width as it looks great the way it is draped. Before I ordered this screen I had ordered another screen from another company as it was cheaper. I returned that screen as soon as I got it as it was flimsy and looked cheap. I was hesitant to order again from on line but took the chance with Midwest Hearth. When I opened the package I realized it was the right choice. The mesh was tighter and the weight was much better. It was a far better quality than the cheap one I had originally ordered from the other company. You really do get what you pay for!I would not hesitate to buy another fireplace screen from Midwest Hearth again. The only problem is we will not have to replace our screen again as the quality is great.I highly recommend buying from Midwest Hearth.

Great screen - size it right!
Weight and gauge is the right size and dimensions were spot on. No kinks and hangs beautifully straight. Tassles are a bit smaller (about 80%) of older ones I have but they work fine and pull well.Stopped a large pop (about a 3-inch piece) from a log without any issues.Tassles also do not get hot to the touch at all. If they are, the fire being built is likely too large for the fireplace - same goes for warping/unravelling screens. As a buying tip, these screens need (and should!) overlap in the middle when closed. This means for a 48 inch opening a 54 inch screen coverage is needed minimum. Personally, my 38 inch opening fireplace required a 48 inch screen. Make sure to consider the allowances! Also consider if a fireplace does not have rods already to hang a screen it's likely meant to have a floor screen. I would recommend getting the type of screen the fireplace was built to have.
