I waited a long time to get this deck, even though I have been drawn to it since I knew of its existence, and I'm glad I did. Connecting to a deck sometimes means being in the right space to fully embrace it, and to make the most of it.This deck is interesting with the two books, one to read at dawn and one at dusk. You can take it literally and do a reading at dawn or dusk, which is pretty fun, or you can take it based on the time and season of your soul/ headspace. One of the reviews on here is helpful saying they only connect to one of the books, I hope they haven't discarded the other because we all have seasons and are all connected to the ebb and flow of life. If you aren't connecting immediately, it doesn't mean you won't later, and if you are doing a past present and future reading, the timing of your future is unknown, and both could be future influence. It also could be that when reading for someone else the timing could be different then yours.Both guide books are stunning and offer solid advice. I did some midday readings and read both and found that each offered me something to think about. Art wide, there is always a bit of a shadow to the cards, also to me, so I think I most connect with dusk right now.Regarding the cardstock. Maybe it's been changed, I'm not sure, but I have no problems with it. I am not rough with shuffling ever, so perhaps it's protective. I also think the sheen and choice of printing reflects best in natural light, it's cool in that the season of the card (be it summer, winter, spring, fall) reflects the light and coloring of the actual season. It also reflects in the time of day (dawn or dusk) you should read in the guidebook.If I had purchased this deck before, I might have given up on it, because you really need to be connected and in your intuition to follow it. But I will say, if you are the type of person who connects with nature and natural decks, this is not a deck to be missed.
