Q: If i wanted to use this to replace a rubber plug on a latch kit used to hold a smoker/grill door closed approx 250-350° for hours, would it melt?

I use these plugs in my composites oven at 450F for hours.

Q: Can these be used as a plug on a tea kettle?

While they would fit the application, we don't recommend these for direct food contact as they are not manufactured for such uses.
