It does. Its thin and not easily noticeable.

Why is my washer going through drain pumps? This will be my 6th one in a year.

I second the notion that sand kills them. My drain tube was plugged with so much sand I had to blow it out with compressed air the first time. The sand had jammed the impeller. Since then I've gone through two pumps but didn't find sand like the first time but I'm still suspicious that it caused it because we run a lot of sandy stuff through the washer... switching to this one, maybe it'll help.
