Dear readers, if you have never seen the Kids In The Hall series, you will not understand the nuances and brilliance of Brain Candy. If you have, you will feel like you have discovered the Holy Grail.Synopsis: researchers discover a pill to make everybody happy, and suffer the consequences. The great part, the Kids play all the parts, and there are little skits within the big picture.If you are expecting slapstick, forget it, this is sophisticated humor. The absurd rules. THIS is what the Kids are best at, and this is the best I have seen. From Canadian police trampled by people fleeing a public rest room, to catatonic test subjects, this film rocks. Kudos to Dave Foley, who made it big with NewsRadio (man do I hope they release that series on DVD). He plays the stright man the whole way through, and actually gets the meatiest parts. The rest wear dresses, but look pretty good....If you are a Welcome to Woop Woop fan, or a Monty Python fan, if you can find this movie, BUY IT!! This is a watch and watch again movie.

Lol. Finally. A... "a blu ray disc" version of the movie. It's a BDR. Seems to be dual layered, because the bit rate is pretty high.Looks and sounds pretty great for what it is.I mean this is.. secretly low key.. the greatest movie ever made. Or at least the most important.

I remember watching this movie on VHS back in the day. Being a fan of Kids In The Hall on tv, the transition to an R rated movie version of them was a no brainer LOL.Watching this movie today, I don't think i've laughed so much in awhile. Though i know i was laughing at the movie back then, as i was only 13 at the time...some of the jokes probably went over my head. Also it was pretty funny to see a young (uncredited) Brendan Fraser having a cameo in the movie.I recommend this movie to any Kids in the Hall fans, or anyone who just wants to sit down and have a good laugh.Aside from some noticable grain in some scenes, the picture was amazing, and so was the sound.

The only movie by The Kids In The Hall now back in print after years of unavailability. A reissue rather than a remaster so there still aren't any special features making this a bare bones DVD. Great for fans of the Kids looking to complete their collection but might be a bit puzzling to those who don't remember them from TV. Overall the movie holds up well a couple of decades after I saw it in the cinema back in 1996.
