These systems work by putting a UV light inside your water pipe which kills off bacteria following exposure to it's UV rays. Simple enough concept. Why most of these systems, essentially a stainless pipe with a water tight glass tube holding a UV bulb installed inside sell for over $500 is beyond me. This seems to be the best price you can find anywhere online for a system (unless you are willing to wait 3 months for shipping from China).System was easy to install, I recommend using stainless flexible water pipe connectors during installation such as these: Eastman 437012 Stainless Steel Corrugated Water Heater Connector, 3/4-Inch Fip X 3/4-Inch Fip . UV lights can deteriorate plastic pipes making them brittle and prone to failure, using these fittings bent into a "U" shape will prevent light from hitting your PVC/PEX/etc and potentially causing a messy failure, as well as allowing easy removal from brackets for service/cleaning. Additionally, it's a 55w bulb inside a stainless steel tube filled with water - go without using water for a while, and it's going to get hot - I don't know to what degree it helps, but having some extra ribbed metal to increase surface area and act as a bit of a heatsink to cool down the device doesn't hurt.Make sure you're using adequate particulate filtration before the device, at least 1 micron (bacteria must make contact with the UV rays to be killed, with no particulate filter a 10 micron particle with a petri dish of bacteria living on it's backside can make it through the system unpurified).A fraction of the cost of other systems, although I question whether or not the bulbs are the correct wavelength for disinfecting purposes, since a spectrometer isn't in my toolbox (my water system showed no bacteria on testing before or after installation, this was installed as safeguard in the event of future contamination). Kind of just taking their word for it as the product does not have lab certification, which is not to say in any way I doubt their honesty - but healthy skepticism has gotten me this far in life. It would just be a nice bonus if they has some kind of lab certification on their product.The mounting brackets are more form than function, my tube regular popped out of them, at least partially due to pump/water vibration. They do have 2 holes predrilled in them at the base of the C clamp molding (other than the screw holes) which worked nicely to feed some wire through and around the body to keep it secured - safety wire, solid core electrical wire, or even a zip tie would would fine.I like the package deal with the extras included should something on the system fail rather than having to bypass and wait on replacement parts to be shipped.If I could improve on the design in any manner, it would be to have some form of screen or filter in place on the outlet side of the device. All of these systems I looked at, including the big box store big dollar brands don't have them. My concern would be a critical failure of the quartz tube while the system was in use and under pressure and glass shards potentially getting pushed through into your water pipes causing pressure issues/stoppages. Like I said, not a fault of this product specifically - no company makes them with a screen/filter.And please, for the love of God, if you're going to install this, make sure it's going into a GCFI protected outlet. It's a florescent light, which means it has a high voltage ballast attached to it. Be safe.

I'm catching rain water and no one has gotten sick...or died! I have to get credit to the Company though. I got the box and it seemed to be very well packed but the UPS driver said there was a hole in the top. Ok...so after a couple days performing the issues necessary to get this installed (stuff that needed to be done with other plumbing) I opened the box and found the electronic ballast was missing. Don't know where that happened but maybe with UPS. Anyway I emailed the Company and they didn't quibble at all and sent me a replacement ballast within 3 days. It was an easy install. No leaks. Only thing on the install is they recommend putting Teflon tape on the threads. Not easy on the Ballast side but not a serious issue. So far been working for a couple weeks now and no issues. Great price point also! I didn't give a 5 rating because this system is new and I don't know how it will stand the test of time.

Like a lot of people, I didn't know what product to buy because when I was looking for a UV light system there were several similar items to choose from on the internet. I'm glad that I chose this product & vendor. The UV Light was easy to install and maintenance appears to be simple. It was important to me that this product came with extra quartz sleeves as well as extra bulbs, ballasts and o-rings because I like to have extra parts on hand when needed.The original ballast failed prematurely but the company quickly sent me a new ballast free of charge. I found that the company representatives were easy to work with and genuinely cared about the quality of their product.

Fantastic unit, materials are of good quality. I don't like needing to chlorinate my well water and this is turning out to be a great alternative, our pets water seems to be better longer. It was easy to install and customer service answered my question via email immediately. Update 10/18/2019 The company service is by far a cut above the rest. I can't say enough good about how they treat their customers. I'm a customer for life :)

Installation was great, system came, water very clean. But first bulb lasted around 45 DAYS! I replaced with an on hand bulb from kit, but one did not work DOA, defective product #2. Luckily I had an extra ballast and bulb left that comes with kit. This why they ship 3 bulbs and 2 ballast? This week, now 5 1/2 months that second bulb went out, or maybe it's the ballast. No bulb or ballast will work with anything else as they are all failed and or bad.This is my third whole house UV system (other manufacturers) over many years, I know how they work, I know what to expect. I put it all in myself. But first bad experience I have had yet. The bulbs and ballast are very poor quality and now many reviews having same bad experience. I see another system from same supplier or mfr, now replacing these versions of bad ballast and bulbs. I want a replacement of this ballast and bulbs I was sold. This is very poor performing hardware and I am seeking a replacement. My water smells like hell and I am ordering other parts to fix this. This system should have never been sold for people to use on their home. My time and trouble are worth a lot to me and this vendor has abused both.

Shocked well, worked for a week.Water started testing positive again. My plumbing from well to tank is so caked with clay/bacteria residue there’s no way it will ever be shocked clean.Installed this baby and waited a couple days to allow the treated water to cycle through the system. Tested twice and no bacteria on the simple tests I have.Hoping the consumables(glass/lights/ballast) last a while!
