Longer, slimmer, and as described by seller
Positive:longer, slimmer, easy to use. They are smooth, not burred.because they are thinner and longer, there may be thick and tough material which require some care when pushing them into the material, but I have so far not had that problem. They come in two rather sturdy plastic boxes, which can not be opened until you realize that there is an almost invisible short piece of tape which is then easily peeled off. You will not be reusing the boxes, because they are not big enough for easy reuse of that many pins, but that is not a problem, just get a bigger box, easy peezy.i did not check the colored ball for meltability, so i don't know if it is glass or plastic.Negative:Because I said ouch, when testing the sharpness, but no blood came, I judge them as sharp enough but could be a little sharper. What is the reason that some reviewers made opposite claims?a.) They were made at a time when the product was different?b.) They were (confusedly) made about a different product.I am honest and report what I experience. This item (longer, thinner, and with easier to grip ball, was what I wanted, and there was no cheaper, returnable product available. You (mostly) pay for what you get, if you are careful.

good pins for the price
I liked the price and they are good quality, getting used to the small heads, overall I would buy them again

Nice, fine pins
I like the amount of pins for the price. The pins are a bit longer than what I have purchased in the past, which is a great thing. They are easier to pull as I am sewing on my machine. The metal is nice and fine, which also means they will be more easily bent, but that's the trade-off for choosing fine pins. One the up-side, they will be less likely to leave pin-marks in my fabrics. Time will tell whether the heads will be easy to pull off (a problem with other pins I've used). The little boxes they come in are handy, too. The lids snap nice and tight, so the lid won't spontaneously open when I lift the box.

So far so good
So far these seem pretty good. Since I've bought them I have yet to use them for anything I've ironed over but considering they're glass I know they'll hold up for that. They're also thick enough they aren't going to bend easily. They're almost half again as long as my old glass-headed straight pins that I've used since the 1970s and I can see that as both a plus and a minus. On the plus side, they're great for pinning crocheted yarn bits on top of other crocheted yarn bits while I stitch them in place. It will also be great for thick fabrics like denim. I'm not so sure I want that much pin poking out of thinner fabrics, although I'm sure time will tell.

Very full boxes
I wish they were bigger boxes because it is annoying to reorganize them every time you put them away.

Stepping Back In Time
I enjoy Victorian Style Treasures. Glass pins are so difficult yo find! I wish that there were more colors, and transparent pastels to be found in a set!
