The Machine
I had almost finished this book and was loving every page of it when I found myself taking an unexpected road trip from Wyoming to California with one of my daughters. I decided that I could either bore her to death with my own retelling of Bert's stories, or I could spend a few bucks to buy the audio version of this book so she could hear them firsthand. So I have the experience of reading the entire book (I've finished it now) and also listening to the audiobook version as read by Bert Kreischer himself. I'm trying to decide which one is my favorite, but I haven't been able to pick a favorite--I love them both.Bert Kreischer is a hilarious guy. He has a heart of gold and absolutely no inhibitions or ability to say no. As a college student he was dubbed by Rolling Stone as the country's biggest party animal. He was even the inspiration for National Lampoon's Van Wilder. Each chapter tells another incredible story. They seem too incredible to be true, but I've heard him interviewed before and he seems to go to great lengths to keep his facts straight and keep his exaggeration in check. I heard him once on Alison Rosen's podcast ("Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend") trying to fact-check himself. He actually called his wife and then called his dad during the same interview just to get his story straight (and to give them a hard time). It was pretty funny to hear them included in the live interview. The stories in this book are hilarious and in some cases very raw. He does a great job laying everything out and you end up loving him more than ever. Me and my family were already big fans of his show "Bert the Conqueror" and knew what a giggling screaming man-child he was. We had only seen the tip of the iceberg before reading/listening to these stories. This book is incredible.

A surprisingly amazing read!
I was not hoping for much. I love Bert and his comedy, but he is a barely functional idiot most of the time. So, I bought this book to be supportive because I enjoy his comedy and podcast. I was very pleasantly amazed at the quality of the writing in the book. The stories flowed smoothly. There were not as many errors as you would think. And, above all, it was a entertaining as anything I have read. It was honest and I enjoyed reading the full version of some of the stories Raytheon than the abridged or "razzle-dazzle[d]" version. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is a fan of comedy.

Bert Kreischers energy and personality put to paper
A really fun read, my minor complaint is that it was short, Bert Kreischer obviously have got plenty more stories so the book could have been 100 pages longer. The book gives you snippets of the life of Bert Kreischer, a man that does not know how to say no. There is stories from his childhood to today and everything in between, some stories I had heard before but now told in greater detail but most of stories were new to me. His life so far have been truly unique thanks to some part luck but mostly his personality. The book does not shy away from telling stories both of triumph and defeat, stories of pride and shame and stories of brilliance and idiocy. For example what I believe is Bert Kreischers most famous story, The Machine, is in there and it mixes all the elements above,The book captures Bert Kreischers amazing and unique energy and I often found myself putting his laugh into the stories. I believe most people will find this a fun read but it will be even better if you have some experience with Bert Kreischers other projects; his Standup, his TV-shows or, maybe even better, his podcast. I will continue to follow Bert Kreischers career and hope for more amazing and fun stories in the future.

A Man and Machine in progress
Have been a fan of Bert's since first hearing him on Jay Mohr's podcast a few years back and have since enjoyed his stand-up and listened to every episode of his podcast. In short, I think save for one or two, I have heard versions of all of these stories before ... and they were still brand new to me as he adds detail and feeling that isn't possible in other formats. The story is one of a man in progress and closing it as he did, with him coming off the road to deal with a family situation (no spoilers), I think sets up well for another book, where he deals with life as an adult as opposed to the adolescent and post-adolescent described in these pages. I know he has talked about writing a second and I look forward to it after devouring this one very quickly. One reviewer said he never grew up in this book. I'd disagree in part as you can see it happening in the end. That said, that was kind of the point: the man's in progress. When you are The Machine, stepping into the light can be tough, especially when that persona pays the bill. But it seems like that's what's happening, slowly but surely. I look forward to what's next.

If you’ve seen his Netflix you already know whats in the book
This guy is hilarious no doubt. After seeing his netflix specials, I felt I didn’t need to read it because I already knew the story.

Rage Again with the Machine!
Bert Kreischer is a lot of things. He is ... - one the most entertaining stand-ups working in comedy today. - a podcastiing genius, - frat guy - dedicated husband/father - television personality - a seasoned world traveler with an intense fear of flying - perhaps one of the luckiest men in the world.Bert was the kind of guy I secretly wanted to be in college; he was a good time. Oliver Stone quickly obtained the rights to his life story after Rolling Stone Magazine featured Kreischer as America's Number One Party Animal in 1997. Shortly after moving to New York Bert found himself barking outside comedy clubs, crashing on couches and breaking up fights between his lesbian roommates. Encounters with the likes of Will Smith and Tracy Morgan are hilariously detailed but he saves his most notorious tale for the final chapter of "Life of the Party". Even if you already know the premise of how Kreischer became "The Machine" it is further detailed here in glorious fashion.A great bedtime story for the kids!

BertBertBert!
Like standup in a bottle! Any Bert Kreisher story that you would expect to be told, is in the book. It makes me wonder if Bert has any more to put on stage! The book flows nicely, introducing you to the Life of the Party starting in the great days of Florida State U and launching straight into a life of wild luck, loss, and liver damage. It's hard not to read too quickly, It feels short after the first hour kills 1/5th of the book, but one man can party only so hard.#DEATHSQUADThanks Bert,You'll sign my copy one day!

Wild book from a wild man!
Bert Kriescher is a perpetual comedy machine, Once you get him started there is no stopping him. Life of the party is an incredibly honest book that will have you laughing from beginning to end wishing you had a friend just like him in your life. Bert is a man with an incredible sense of humour and an incredible heart and both shine through in this book. Couldn't reccomend a book more if you are looking for a laugh, if not you are probably dead inside.
