This product is very sensitive and works well in our building where security is of the utmost. In addition to a walk through magnetometer, this device works well as a second scanning device for an additional search for individuals that set off the magnetometers.

Fine for wood not so good for steel shot.
Purchased this for two reasons, first to detect steel shot in waterfowl second to pick up any metal for woodworking. Doesn't work so well for detecting the shot but does fine on the wood.

The charger that came with the scanner is not made by Garrett as pictured. It is Chinese made by Tenergy. Probably not worth the extra $20
