Large paperback with full history
Can be used for study, development of cubism, reference or just enjoyment. Very fulfilling and wonderful color pages. My favorite of all cubists for continuing to improve and experiment when others jumped ship for a new field.

Georges Braque, Karen Wilkin
A very well written study of the life and artistic deveolpment of the artist Georges Braque. The Modern Masters edition is of a good medium size, allowing clear presentation of the nicely printed colour and black and white illustrations which are interlaced with the text. The book is rounded up with quotations on art from Braque, notes on his technique, a chronology, lists of his exhibitions and of the galleries where his works are currently displayed, and an index.Highly recommended.

not your grandfather's art
I never really realized the colors that Braque used until I bought this book. I had always thought of him like Picasso's little brother and just another cubist. Finding out that he moved to L'estaque (early 1900s) and basically took Cezanne's images of that former sleepy little village near Marseilles nd blasting it with fauve colors was a sight to behold. It actually made me much more appreciative of Cezanne's landscapes after reading this book. So, do yourself a favor and see what a true painting wizard can do. Well worth the ride with nary a bump..sgu
