Perfect as replacements for Opus Garden Ballet Hummingbird Feeder Mobile
Several years ago I purchased an attractive hummingbird feeder made by Opus, called the Garden Ballet Hummingbird Feeder Mobile. After many seasons of use and enjoyment, the feeder's three hanging nectar containers were in need of being replaced. When I contacted the company a few weeks ago, I learned that particular model of feeder was no longer being made, and was told that no similar replacement containers were available. However, I was unwilling to give up on my beloved feeder so readily. After a lengthy online search, I found this Garden Jewels 10 oz. glass feeder. In size, shape and structure, it is quite similar to the nectar containers I was attempting to replace, with a simply designed clear glass storage vessel and a red plastic thread-on bottom with feeding port. I ordered three, and I'm pleased to report that they arrived quickly and safely via one of Amazon's featured merchants. They fit perfectly on my mobile and function exactly as the originals did for so long, in addition to looking great. And the most important result is that they are a big hit with our resident hummers! All in all, I am quite pleased with this purchase. I'm even considering buying an extra set of these to set aside for the future, so I won't have to worry about finding replacements for these somewhere down the road. This feeder serves my purposes perfectly, and I'd think it would work as a stand alone feeder just as well. I've not had these long enough to speak to their durability, but they appear to be every bit as sturdy as my originals, which lasted for several years.

The ONLY Feeder That Keeps Gila Woodpeckers Away!
I love this feeder! It's not the prettiest, but I live in southwestern Arizona, and we have these pesky Gila Woodpeckers here (the ones that live in the Saguaro cacti), and they like nectar - especially the sugary-sweet stuff in hummingbird feeders. And those little guys are clever. They can hang down from just about anything and drink all the hummingbird food. They're also very territorial, so they chase the hummingbirds away. I don't specifically object to providing sustenance for he woodpeckers as well, but given their propensity for loudly hammering on the wall right outside my bedroom at ungodly hours of the wee morning, I'd rather they not felt too welcome. Plus, I just adore hummingbirds and would much rather have an army of them than one pesky woodpecker. So I tried at least half a dozen different feeders, trying to find one to keep the woodpeckers away. But wouldn't you know it, they have always managed to find a way. Even with these handy little feeders, they could hook one claw in the tiny ring at the top and hang down to drain all the red deliciousness. At least, that is, they could until I finally outsmarted them. The solution was as simple as it is tacky: I cut a small slit in the center of a paper plate, turn it upside down and hang it on the ring at the top of the feeder, below the hanging hook. It forms a convenient little lightweight cap on the feeder, eliminating any foothold for the pesky woodpeckers.I now have several of these feeders around my house, all topped with a classy white paper plate, and my hummingbirds have returned. My husband doesn't appreciate the plate look, but he hasn't complained too much, since paper plates hanging around the house is surely far less embarrassing than having your wife run out of the house 15 times a day, wielding a bring pink broom and yelling at birds.

) It is easy to fill and clean
I live in Phoenix and have tried about a dozen different feeders. I have trouble with finches and woodpeckers hogging all the food away from the hummingbirds and need a feeder that will keep that from happening. This feeder has seemed to help keep the smaller birds away but the woodpeckers took only a few minutes to figure out they can get enough of a grip on the plastic bottom lip to hang on and drink away. It does make it a little more tricky and they have to work harder for the food but they can still get to it. I have not had any issues with dripping unless a big bird is dangling from it and tipping it way over to one side. I have also had no problems with leaking. It is on the small side but that actually helps keep the food from sitting too long and turning on you ( that is if the woodpeckers leave it alone long enough for it to spoil!) It is easy to fill and clean. My hummers had absolutely no trouble with figuring out where to get the food from. I am keeping it but still on the look out for the perfect feeder (bee proof, Woodpecker proof, drip proof and leak proof, easy to clean and fill and pretty to look at it.) I may have to have hubby design one for me! lol

well made but have lost all birds - hummers and finches
I really like the feeder. Well made. However the hummers don't appear to know where to get the nectar. I painted yellow flowers around the openings. Have not seen any action yet but will report that later. However the feeder design did prevent the finches from getting the nectar by not having an area to perch. two days later no longer have hummingbirds or finches. I went back using the old feeder. After additional three days, I have no birds in the yard. Truly disappointed.

Hummingbirds love it.. So do
Update 8/9/17: I broke out my favorite feeder this year, prepared with hooks to prevent ants and...bees! Yellow jackets and hornets literally swarmed this feeder. About 2 weeks after I put it up a crack developed. Disappointed I didn't get more use out of this perfectly sized feeder.Hummingbirds really love this feeder but so do the ants. The feeder leaks during the day attracting all the neighborhood ants however the hummingbirds prefer this feeder over all the others in my yard.
