Another fine issue.
The stories I enjoyed most were: In the Aftermath by Eva Freeman, Variations by Tao Lin, and A Last Chance in Whitefish by Adam O'Fallon Price. But I would prefer if they would stop publishing page after page of photos and instead published more fiction.

Mixed bag that has some jewels
Some of the writing wasn't what I expected from Granta: that included either a lack of imagination, use of language or even the the technique of creative writing ... you know, all that stuff that comes up time and time again, like use of adverbs, redundancies, run-on sentences, consistency etc., etc..That surprised me.But.What you will find in this issue are two of the best stories I've read in the last few years. Outstanding. Astonishing. Full of invention, refreshing voices that twisted and turned the language to suit the narrative, and gave serious messages with a feather light touch of real virtuosity. But this is my opinion. As soon as I read one of these stories it made me pre-buy the writers debut novel that'll make me wait till April next year ... just saying!
