My friend likes it.
This video is definitely from another country and culture. It was weird at first, but made sense after it was explained.

Great film and great music
What a brilliant film this was. a confused 13 year old who had lost his Father looking for a replacement who meets a stranger passing through until his car broke down THE Boy Pablo bonds with this man but the local gossip plus the postman start having suspicions and warn Pablo not to get involved Pablo being at a age where he is unsure about sex is put in a state of confusion squirms when a girl he hangs around with preforms a sex act on him and decides its not for him trying his luck with his Adult friend it doesn't work out the way he thought Turns out the gossip was right this man had been in prison but not for what was suspected Pablo ends up with a huge shock when he finds out why this mans in town A story that is well worth watching add the Spanish guitars as the background music really makes this film not just a must see But also a must hear

Intensely moving and beautiful production
Despite the German title given to this version of the dvd, it's a film made in Spanish entitled "En tu ausencia". It is masterminded by Ivan Noel, who wrote the guidelines for the script (which is largely improvised by the, mostly amateur, actors), directed the photography, trained the actors and wrote and played the intensely beautiful and profound music. Just as interesting as the story itself is the discusssion in English between Noel and the principal adult actor about the making of the film. I'm wondering what became of the brilliant young protagonist, Gonzalo Sánchez Salas, who by now must be in his early twenties and does not seem to have continued in an acting career. I would thoroughly recommend this unusual and very moving film.
