ChessBase India Premium Chess Set (Green), Kids

This is absolutely the best chess set you can get. I selected this one after purchasing and returning three other chess sets from Amazon. The wooden ones from BCBESTCHESS were either too small or too heavy and the one from stonecraft had a really foul chemical smell to the mat/board. I selected this one for three reasons and if they're the same for you, you should buy this one. PROS 1. The board is FIDE regulation size and doesn't smell. 2. I needed a set to study and improve my openings and endgame and these are the perfect size for that. Not too big, not too small. You can see the squares and where the pieces can move. It's not too small like the wooden sets. 3. The pieces themselves are very good. The plastic is of good quality, it almost feels like marble and its weight is just right 4. The sleeve for the mat and pieces are nice. You can carry this to games and events. I've played with this on a friend's set in a cafeteria. It's ideal for players to play and an audience to watch 5. The shape of the pieces are nicer than most chess sets out there 6. It's a little expensive but you can get a lot out of it if you're a serious chess player. 7. It's the best one for studying games and variations. Sure, most people do that on a computer, but this is the perfect set if you want to study from books/play 'human' chess CONS 1. There are algebraic notations on the mat, so the positions for black and white are fixed. I would've liked no notations, so you could use it from any side. But I guess it's helpful for beginners. 2. The a8 and h1 squares have chessbase branding

It’s a very nice chess set overall. I am not a big fan of the available colour options and really wish there was a blue variant and a proper dedicated chess bag included. The pieces are nicely weighted, have an attractive colour, and the size of the set is very comfortable to play on. Nothing was missing in the box, the set feels durable, and the fact that it does not use magnets is a big plus for me. I also like ChessBase India as a brand and would happily recommend this product to others.​

Not recommended for newbie for those who want to become intermediate best quality heavy chess pieces and chess mat is wooowww quality NO DOUBT you must by and pieces are very very big you are going to feel like [yes Haan Mei kuch toh Hai (while holding it)] Beastest under 1500

The pieces fit and finish is not so good the plastic used can be seen pasted by the lines whereas the the quality of mat is top notch For a first time buyer of chess set it is a good value for money the material is fine I can go with that , the mat's green colour could be a little light
