PHILIPSPerfectCare Serie 6000 Steam Generator, 2400 W, 600g Steam Flow, 8 Bar Pressure, No Burns with OptimalTEMP Technology, 1.8L Tank, Black (PSG6066/26)

This replaced my 15 year old Philips generator iron. I was amazed at the power of the steaming, so much so that it was too much in the heatwave! This is an excellent iron. Automatically adapting to whatever material you are ironing is brilliant. The only thing I'm not impressed with is the steam tube tidy. Firstly, there is nowhere to put the electric cable and secondly the place given for the steam cable is so difficult to use. The cable is very stiff and solid so trying to curve it into the specified grooves is really hard to do especially as I'm arthritic. I wish that being a high end iron they had designed that part better. Of course it may not bother many, but I wanted a smaller iron than I had, which could be stored easily. It does fit that criteria, but extremely difficult to do for me. It's a nice light weight and because of the iron lock to the base, easy to carry around. I'm hoping it lasts me like my previous Philips iron did. I would recommend this as it does speed up ironing and do a great job.

Very impressed with iron, have been using now for 2 weeks, love it, so much easier for ironing, it pays to buy expensive iron.

I may have had a faulty version of this iron, but it never performed. I was excited about this iron - it looked sleek, and had the Intellitemp functionality (I have used this before with a Bosch iron - no longer made, sadly - and it was fantastic), but on the Phillips, the iron just did not seem to get hot enough, and instead of producing steam, it deposited water streaks all over my clothes. As the iron didn't get so hot, everything got left damp. I used the iron several times to check the leakage wasn't a 1-off, but it was the same result. This wasn't a cheap iron, so I might have just been unlucky, but in any case, the iron was returned.

Very impressed with this iron. The iron quality is good as it glides across the fabric. The best part is the weight. This iron is very light and easy to move.

Only used this once so far. Pleased with iron. Makes ironing easy with good steam. No problems with setting it up. Having used the descaler yet. I will update review if any problems but so far pleased with iron generator. Purchased the black and rose gold .

Ok but disappointing compared to my previous model which was the Philips PerfectCare Elite. I would not hav bought this with the knowledge I have now. It drips water. Is more tedious to descale and not as light or as quick to use.

Excellent. Far more powerful than a standard iron

I bought this during the prime day sales because I was getting a bit frustrated with the amount of time it took me to iron my clothes with a cheaper one. This works very well - no need to fuss around with temperature as it should not burn your clothes at all, and the steam works very well. I use it with fragranced deionised water which also reduces the need for cleaning. Highly recommend!
