Great vocabulary builder
I love this series and so does my 1st grader. There are less pictures than many kids chapter books and significantly longer than a magic tree house book- but the vocabulary building is great. Fun and whimsical.

Not very interesting
Not sure who the audience for this book is. The plot and humor are predictable, kids are reading really clever/funny graphic novels and playing video games. There isn't a hook in this book to hold interest, at no point did I think 'what will happen next', and I doubt the child who receives it as a gift will get much past the first chapter. The illustrations are well done though!

My 2nd grader and 1st grader loved this read aloud. They were intrigued with the lizards and loved following the characters through the story. We love that there are pictures that fit right into the story.

Arthur and his Knights
During the Knights currents age, they boasted and made up fights with dragons.. ten Merlin sends them on a quest to find a terrible lizard.. and also makes up a story about the lizard King. Merlin as awesome, he taught the knights how to work together. During the journey they find out that the Black Knight is something different and when they fight the lizards the black knight gets recognition and acceptance along with Mel the squire. Good story for middle grade and for juveniles to enjoy!

I used this book as a read aloud for my 6 year old son. Great for girls too 😉
Absolutely love this book! Packed full of adventure! Lying getting them into trouble. Arrogance leading to teamwork.Only thing we didn’t like at the end had to do with women. I had high hopes pride would be swallowed and do what’s right. I (mom) would have loved this book as a kid too.Lots of opportunities to talk with your kid about behavior.
