Diameter size is slightly larger than 1.75” more like 2” diameter. Nevertheless it is beautifully made and a good buy.

heed the comments, do not buy
I bought two for my grandchildren's Christmas stockings. When they arrived, the boxes were held closed with rubber bands. First big clue that the boxes would never close as the tops didn't fit on the bottoms. These are not at all suitable for gift giving.
