Exactly what it should be for a great price
I use this to hook up to a retrotink 4k and the picture is immaculate. As far as I can see there is no signal noise and does its job well. The left and right audio channels are correct as well.

Works and looks great
I sold my old vga box and replaced it with this. The old vga box had noticeable vertical bars. With this cable, the vertical bars are practically gone. YouTube videos shows that this cable is similar to the more expensive vga boxes, the color is a little on the warm side but I prefer it that way. I paired it with a cheap VGA to HDMI converter, I didn't want to deal with the washed out colors some of these all in one solutions give and I didn't want to pay too much money, especially since I already had a VGA to HDMI adapter. I also would like the option to plug this in an OSSC in the future. The cheap adapter I use is a cheap $10 ebay one and it works okay. For both the old vga box and this cable I have to disconnect the usb cable from the adapter and reconnect it a couple of times to get an image. I don't think it's the cable's fault, you might have better luck witha different adapter. The one I have is a really small and compact one. I see some people have an actual box with a power cord. I also used the vga box previously on vga enabled screens and the vertical bars were there as well so I know it wasn't the adapter's fault. In other words, this is an excellent product for the price I paid.

Works great, had to test stereo splitter for left / right
Everything works wonderfully for me. If you have RGB DVI in on your TV you will also need a male / male audio cord. An RCA (red/while composite plugs) to stereo converter is included but out of the box that won't help it plug into the TV. I think the intention was to plug the Dreamcast into a monitor, in which cast you would plug the PC speakers into the headphone jack on that splitter. By the way you will probably need to do that to figure out which side of the splitter is left and which is right. Some have mentioned that the RGB/PC setting on their TV prevented this from working. For me, on my LG, it doesn't detect that anything is plugged in, but if I manually select VGA from the remote input button it works just fine. If you have a universal remote that just cycles through your inputs and skips over those that are disconnected you might have to find a way to select it. If your TV has an advanced menu to turn on/off PC mode on the VGA, that will make it detectable (another review mentioned but you'll have to look up the button combination for your remote). One last thing! It fits perfectly in the AV port on the back of the Dreamcast. Not sure why there are complaints. Seems like no matter which brand you look at someone is saying that its loose (seems like listing subterfuge attempting to hurt the competition to me... this fits just fine).

It works, great picture quality but you get what you pay for
The quality of the VGA output is as good as you'd expect (VGA is as best as you'll get/on par with Component or SCART). No complaints there and I haven't had any scaling issues through the cable itself (although the base image is 4:3 and you need to stretch the video output to its proper resolution yourself as with most Dreamcast cables). However, in less than a few hours of use the left audio cable started giving heavy crackling feedback and I'm not sure if I'm incredibly unlucky or the quality of the cables is questionable. I've swaped the L/R around to confirm it was coming from the cable and not my line-in adapter, and unfortunately I can't use stereo audio with this anymore because of the crackling.

Excellent Picture Quality! You may (definitely) need a signal amplifier on HDTVs
This cable is nice and thick and seems to be very high quality. It came with an adaptor for the RCA plugs to 3.5mm jack for audio and an female adaptor for the VGA, which was nice to have included. Overall the build quality and included parts were above and beyond what I would expect at this price point. When I first connected the Dreamcast to a 720p Samsung HDTV with the cable, I got no picture or sound. The TV did not recognize that there was anything plugged into the PC input. A little research showed that the Dreamcast VGA signal is too weak for most HDTVs to pick up. I purchased a powered VGA splitter with signal boost and another VGA cable to go from the splitter to the TV. It's a lot of extra mess behind the TV (and added about $40 to the total cost of the upgrade), but it was worth it. The TV now recognized the Dreamcast, and the image was stellar. It's truly transformational to go from composite to VGA. What was once muddy and fuzzy with lots of distracting motion blur is bright, crisp, and clean. It makes the Dreamcast feel like a brand new machine.I can't give the cable 5 stars since more equipment will be needed to get it to work on most newer TVs, but I can say that I am very satisfied with the quality. If you are using a CRT tv/monitor, chances are you will not need a signal booster like I did, in which case the cable is a tremendous deal all by itself.

Long live the Dreamcast! Still my favorite system of all time.
I'm in a state of shock right now. I saw this on Amazon and figured I'd take a chance, because I noticed my main LG TV upstairs had an input for VGA, which apparently is the "true" way to play Dreamcast, as it was the only console in that generation to be able to output in VGA, which is its native resolution. I hooked it up and it worked immediately. You WILL need a male-to-male 1/8 in. audio cable to hook the yellow audio part to the TV as well. The picture and audio are both crystal clear on this TV. Huge difference. I'm finally playing the Dreamcast correctly on a modern TV 25 years later. I immediately knew it worked just my looking at the letters and numbers on the main menu, ha!
