The best lip sunscreen I've tried by FAR
Background:I have VERY dry lips that sunburn, desiccate, and wrinkle easily (see before pic). I use prescription tretinoin so I'm skin sensitized and hyper conscious of sun exposure. I've tried lip sunscreens from what feels like every single brand, including EltaMD (3/5, looks ok, not moisturizing enough), Sun Bum (1/5, super drying, gross flavor, oily) Aquaphor (4/5, looks good, pretty moisturizing, my #2), Blistex (2/5, waxy, drying), and a million other random Amazon and gas station brands.First impression:I actually didn't read the ingredients list before purchasing since I was buying a bunch of new brands to try. But as soon as I put it on I was blown away at how immediately SOFT, hydrated, plumped, and moisturized my lips felt...and that is not something I ever say about my lips. Then I checked out the ingredients and it made sense. The top ingredient in the base is argan oil which is very emollient and moisturizing, then bisabolol which is a very soothing natural extract from chamomile, and this also has beeswax, sweet almond oil, shea butter and vitamin e for more moisture and antioxidant benefits. This is a really impressive formula from a $3 tube of sunscreen, let alone the fact it has SPF 30. There's a tiny amount of white cast if I look closely (from the zinc, see after pic) but it's not really noticeable and overall it looks really flattering on my lips (Fitzpatrick III, light-medium skin and medium pigmented lips). The alternative is a balm with chemical filters which (in my experience) all taste disgusting. If you have dark skin or very pigmented lips I would still give it a shot since it's pretty affordable and quite sheer, but you might prefer it over a lip stain. This has zero flavor or scent when I eat or lick my lips.Sun protection test:I have worn this outside while gardening in October/early November and haven't experienced any burning or sun sensitization on my lips. I haven't worn it during summer months when the sun is most intense, but the fact that the formula is flavorless and super moisturizing really incentivizes me to reapply often which is the most important factor when it comes to sunscreen (especially lip sunscreen which moves around more!), so I don't anticipate having issues with maintaining solar protection.5/5 great product!

Finally! A decent lip balm with SPF
I have tried SO MANY lip balm stick products and they either slide down causing me to break out in acne or they don't have enough SPF or don't have enough moisturizer for my lips! THIS actually has the moisture, the SPF, is not sticky, doesn't cause zits, stays in place, is very cushiony, and isn't sticky! It came with 2 sticks which I appreciate since I often will keep one in my jacket pocket (don't wash your clothes with this in it!) and one in my purse!I feel this is very affordable and appreciate it so MUCH. Highly recommend! No scent but that doesn't bother me because it's a high quality product! We often neglect protecting our lips from the sun and this assures that I know I won't. It also goes well under other lip products easily!

Favorite sph lip balm
I've used a few different sph lip products (sun bum, jack black, burts bees, this one and the chemical sph version). This one is more reef safe and has no chemical taste or feel. It's also fragrance free so no worries about it causing irritation from that.Perfect for winter and water sports, especially in oceans and rivers. It works well, not too waxy consistency and warms up easy when it touches skin, it also didn't leave a white cast -- I used it on my lips, cheeks, eyelids, and nose to provide a better barrier while surfing because the sun and salt is brutal on my face. I even put it over my light makeup sometimes.

SPF
I purchased this lip balm because Palmers stopped putting SPF in their lip balm. I read the reviews of Dermatone and thought I would give it a try. I like the balm but it has a very dry/waxy feel. So I use it as a base and then apply Eucerin ointment. This works well for me. I have inflammation of the lips and I have to have SPF.

gives me blue lips but works well to protect!
These glide on well and stay put for my walks and runs. It does give me the look of having blue lips, but I wouldn't say it makes a huge difference in how much I like the product. The only downside is that it's a little less moisturizing than other lip balms I've tried, so I only really use this for outdoor exercise when I really want to make sure the spf doesn't budge.

Smells and tastes bad
I wanted a flavorless and odorless chapstick with sunscreen. While this product does have 30 SPF, it has a chemical-ish taste and smell. It also looks white on my lips. I’m really disappointed but will probably return it and keep looking.

Nice!
I work outdoors and have tried many sun protection balms. I really like this one because it goes on pretty thick and lasts an hour or two before I need the reapply.

White cast, weird texture
Regret buying the multipack. Maybe if you always wear lipstick and don't mind pastels...you could cover the grey effect that this product has. But...it's a nope for me.
