Not an active socket just storage seems fairly robust does exactly what it should decently priced

I wanted a Type 2 holder to bring my EV charger cable outside the garage so that visitors can use it. This one appealed as it has a good catch to hold the cable into the holder (a lot of others use friction to try to hold them). It also slopes downwards so that any moisture will drain away from the handle. It is a really tough, well built item and the only criticism I could make is that the top 2 holes are inset so far back that it was difficult to use a bradawl to mark the holes for drilling. But this is a one-time only issue and is no real criticism. It is now firmly fixed to the garage wall and ready for action!

Good quality but bottom screws are a little hard to get to when fitting. looks good but not sure how long the latching clip will survive.

We leave our EV Cable connected to the charger inside the garage, running under the garage door to the outside. The cable was being capped and left on the ground outside - or uncapped on some occasions. I also had an incident after very heavy rain where despite the cap being on, rainwater had seeped into the cap, albeit not as far as the connectors.Result was I wanted a holder to get it off the ground and encourage the family to store the cable when the car was driven away. Looking at the options, this was one of the few (only?) one that held the cable at a downward angle and that's what made me pick it, on the assumption that if there is heavy rain it will offer better protection than a horizontal holder. It's easy to install - comes with both screws and wall plugs - and is one handed in operation for both inserting the cable for storage - just push and the catch locks automatically - and removal - the catch can be thumb operated as you pull the connector out. Plastic is good thickness and so far it's operated exactly as I wanted in terms of getting the family to store cable in it. Haven't really had a major rainstorm since installing it, but I'm confident it would deliver on that front. I did deduct one star for value for money as at the end of the day it is just a plastic holder, but maybe that is a little harsh.Overall, I'd recommend it, especially if you're looking to store your EV cable outside.

Well made and a pretty good design. I expect it to last well, but I guess that's reflected in the price though. It could do with either counter-sunk fixing holes, or better quality/longer round-head screws supplied, but I expect most people installing it would have something suitable (how many people actually use the supplied screws for this sort of thing? I rarely do!). It could be further improved by having something to hook a coiled lead on when not in use. However, similar products that did looked quite ugly, which is why I chose this one. If there aren't many coils of cable, it is possible to hang it on the holster anyway, but it won't be on very securely.
