Great charging with auto detection.
Bought this charger to service some 18650 flat top batteries. Worked perfectly. Auto-detected the batteries, and charged them from empty to capacity in a couple of hours. Little dials show you the progress of the charge percentage for each battery. Once fully charged to 100%, the charger detects that the battery charge is complete, and flashes a 'full' message under the dial, simply keeping the batteries topped up until they are removed from the charger. The display screen is quite bright, but dims itself after a few minutes, or the backlight can be switched off completely by pressing and holding the button on the display for 1.5 seconds.Great charger, well put together, feels nice and safe, would recommend.

Was soll denn dieser Stecker????
Da kauft man ein Ladegrät bei amazon.de und bekommt ein Gerät mit einem UK-Stecker am Kabel... Was soll denn sowas??? Und ab in den Müll damit, so kann man auch Ressourchen verschwenden... Dafür gehörigen Abzug bei den Sternen!

Excellent charger, and at an excellent price too.
I bought this to charger primarily to charge a couple of protected 21700 Li-ion batteries. I looked at a few others and when I had asked questions about the ability to charge protected 21700 Li-ion batteries, all the ones I had enquired about would not charge these batteries. After another look I spotted the XTAR X2 charger, and thankfully it would charge these particular batteries. It also charges up the NI-MH AA and AAA batteries I have. I will add that this charger will charge AAAA, A, C, SC type batteries also.I really like the fact that this charger comes with a good old fashioned mains cable, that has a 3 pin UK plug on one end and the other end has a figure 8 connector. I prefer this much more than the mains adaptor plugs, which quite often are hard to source a replacement or expensive to source a replacement. If a new mains/figure 8 cable needs to be purchased, these can be sourced very easily on Amazon for a few pounds. The supplied 3 pin lead has a piece a velcro on it, so that you can use it to keep the cable bundled up when not in use (really nice touch). The charger has a very snazzy blue screen on the top, which shows the battery type on charge (Li-ion, NI-MH, NI-CD), charging voltage, battery level, and at what amp the battery is charging at as well as other battery info. I will point out that when the battery is fully charged, the display keeps flashing the word "FULL" at the bottom of the display. I cannot say exactly how long it takes to charge up a certain type of battery, as I tend to put the batteries on charge when I go to bed, and also, different types of battery, may take longer than others. But this charger mentions in it's description:"As fast charger. Auto-selected current, It will intelligently select the charging current among 0.5A*2, 1A*2 and 2A*1, and fully charge a 18650 2500mAh battery in 1.5 hours with 2A current"The metal sprung sliders (which you open to insert the battery) seem of a really good quality. I find in use, that the charger and the batteries hardly get warm which is a good thing.I will point out that all I got with the charger was a UK 3 pin/figure 8 cable, instruction manual and nothing else. If you want to power the charger and charge via the USB port that this charger also has on it, you will need to purchase a suitable USB cable. I'm not sure if its possible to power this charger from a computer's USB port, but I can imagine that a computer might struggle to charge a high capacity battery (21700 Li-ion battery for example) and I would always recommend powering the charger from the mains electric. If you are going to be charging Li-ion batteries, I would advise however spending the extra £9-£10 on this X2 version over the VC2 version that is also on Amazon, as the VC2 version WILL NOT charge protected Li-ion batteries, and as a lot of Li-ion batteries are protected, having the ability to charge protected batteries is a fundamental feature. All in all, an excellent charger that I can highly recommend for a really good price. It seems to charge up practically all the popular sized batteries that are in use now, along with the specialist Li-ion batteries that are used in high power torches, vapes etc.

Charger not working in less than 11 weeks
Hi,I bought this charger on 11 December 2023, c. 11 weeks ago. I was more than happy with as it is simple to use and did what it was supposed to, charge rechargeable batteries. However, this morning, as you can see from the picture, the right channel is not working. For a device to fail less than 3 months into its life is not good enough. Please do not get me wrong, I appreciate that in all likelihood this is one of the 75 PPM that can be expected from a manufacturing process. However, if that is not the case, and it is, in fact, the product of cheap, badly sourced parts then that's a bigger concern. At least for the manufacturer and the resellers.I am willing to accept it is simply one of the few that 'just fail' and accept a replacement for it. This is all well and good except for the fact that there is no mechanism, that I can find, for me to engage with Amazon, or the reseller in order to have this issue addressed.I do not care who replaces it, I just want it replaced. What on Earth am I expected to do in order to make this happen? You will see I have given 'ease of use' 5 stars. Well, how hard could it be to use a battery charger? However, I personally think that if a product, of this type, cannot make it to at least 2 years service (no moving parts, nothing to go wrong) then it is of no value. I have to use my labour in order to try to put right what should be externalities of either/both Amazon and/or the reseller.I simply want someone from either company to organise a replacement. I'm not looking to 'make' anything out of this, despite the necessity to apply, once again, my unpaid labour to resolve something I should not have to resolve in the first place. Many thanks, Dave (Elliott)
