I downloaded this book for free, partially spurred by having recently re-read an O.Henry short story contained in an old text book. My expectations were low, but as I read each story, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. O. Henry has a very unique and amusing style, with a dry sense of humour running through all the stories. Some come across as a little old-fashioned, but overall, they are a good, light and amusing read

O Henry has no equal as a short story writer. This and his other books show his mastery of the art of writing amusing and sometimes poignant short stories, although perhaps the most famous and memorable of his stories are found in The Four Million and The Trimmed Lamp.

A collectinf of "BANANA REPUBLIC" stories that will make you chuckle. It is necessary to understand when these were written to excuse some of the language. If you like short stories you will love this.

Typical O. Henry with good humor and his signature surprise ending. I enjoyed this light reading even if some of the places are unfamiliar.

A good choice for learning English.

This is a superb book by an acclaimed author. I enjoyed reading it and hope other readers will also enjoy.

It provided me with some understanding on options --- but did not give me the details I wanted in order to trade them intelligently.
