Awesome book, many things to go over and review. Make sure you double take your reading and understand what you want to understand. Not for your novice beginner. But do some research on what you do not understand and you will get it down. Very Very Helpful!!

I have a 1995 LT1 in my Firebird, that I rebuilt, and so I wanted to learn more about the valvetrains and camshafts. As David Vizards says, ask 5 people what canshaft you should get and you will probably get 5 different answers. There is a lot to learn from this book, and I love David's approach, of let me try it and see what the results are. There are so many variables involved from what you want to end up with to how you intake, heads and exhaust all flow. David trys to help you sort it all out, but I have not been able to really get my brain wrapped around this subject yet. Not this books fault, just a lot for me to learn.

A little dated by today's standards but everything still applies and it's extremely informative. I've read it several times just to absorb all of the knowledge that's packed into this book. Highly recommended.

David Vizard is one author that I buy whatever he writes because he is that good! If he says I should know it, I believe him. He covers things that de-mystify this often mis-understood area of hot rodding that you must know to go faster! Some things contradict "popular knowledge" or common myths and he tells you why. This man knows his craft. This is the one area that can have a HUGE impact on your overall engine performance and you had better understand the ins and out of valve-trains and camshafts. This book will teach you!

It appeared that this book was copied and printed on a copier...not high quality. My son was somewhat disappointed when I gave it to him.

From the basics to critical details. Learn how to avoid mistakes and make real power. Camshaft design theory in this book works.

Awesome book definitely covers with you need to know

A really good reference book one with lots of information. However, if you find working with math a problem and equations aren't your thing, then this might not be the book for you.
