Beautiful illustrations. Interesting Finnish spin on basic fable personalities of animals.

Looked beautiful and who doesn’t want fun stories of Nordic animals but had I known the story of the animal drinking beer to make them feel better I would have never purchased this book. I was surprised the author thought this was an appropriate story for a young child! In whose world is it good to teach young children that alcohol is a good idea? Not a narrative I want young children to start their love of reading with.

I have not finished this book yet, however I have family members who are of some of the Germanic tribes descendants.... So I love learning new things about the different cultures so my hubby and I absolutely love these stories, even without the grands being present.... 😃

Outstanding tales! Enchanting for children of all ages! LOVE these sweet, humorous, delightful tales which remind me of Thorton Burgess' Old Mother West Wind books. The best tales for bedtime!!!

We read that this is for children of all ages, but there is one tale that specifically speaks about an animal drinking beer & how it will make the animal feel better. Not the material I want my 8 year old reading.
