Amazing on ice!
These things are amazing. I am a courier at FedEx and am often working in snowy, icy conditions. My husband initially bought me these before Christmas. I was hesitant to use them for work, I just didn't want to mess with putting them on.Last week we had a significant ice storm. I put them on at my first stop....and never looked back.Solid ice from my truck, across the street, across their yard to their door. No snow or grass was available for better traction. Off I went with never a slip or slide. I was super impressed from the first step. I wore them for the next 2 days.At some point one came off and I didn't notice it was gone right away. I was unable to find it. These are a replacement for the lost one.I will say...I continued to use the single one on my left foot, it actually worked enough to get me through my day. Without it there are a couple places I may not have been able to access. You do have to remove them if you are going to be walking across a finished floor or some other surface they could damage. My husband has the actual Yak Trax with the coils. I haven't tried his, but just looking at them I think I prefer the clear style of these...although he says he says no problems with his. These are worth every penny... I highly recommend them.

Good product, over priced.
Fit boots well. Stay on the boots and are holding up well over the past few months of use. They work well. Every once in awhile your foot will still slide on the ice but it doesn't slide far before the spikes grab. I would have given a 5 star rating but have found these cheaper at Dunhams since I purchased them.

Only traction aids that seem to last
I've tried a few different brands and styles of traction aids over the years, but these are my favorite for a few reasons. Unlike heavier duty versions these go on and off very quickly. And unlike the chain styles these seem to last for many years. My older versions of these actually do not have the Velcro strap across the top, and I've never had an issue with them falling. I've hiked dozens of miles in these in the Black Hills, climbing mountains, frozen creeks, and slippery rocks. I've been surprised the abuse these have taken, but the rubber still feels supple like it did when I bought them. This year I bought a second set to bring with on hikes since the first sets are going on 4-5 years old. Still have not worn a pair out, but I'm sure they will eventually so I bought some more while they still make this style.

As promised.
Link shared with me from a hiking pal. He loves his, so I know I will, too. We had a mild winter this year, but if Pat D. uses these, I know they will serve me well. He’s a diehard hiker and swears by them.
