Works like a charm!
Works like a charm for me. Even not fully charged it turned over my Shockwave motor - the Vertex .18 just fine. It was harder figuring out which backplate to use than to actually install it. Unmounted the motor and pulled it to the side a little. Undid the pullcord (broken string first run!). Then pulled the gear out of the pull start, put it into the new backplate and screwed it back together. Total job maybe 15 minutes.To start it, hook up the starter engine with the "wand" and crank. You still need the glow plug warmer on top. For me it has cranked within seconds of using the starter.Way better design than my more expensive Traxxas "EZ Start" has ever been!

Must have no matter how experienced you are
Buy this product when you buy your red car rc. The pull start will leave blister on between your finger and will more that likely brake befor you ever get it start this product is a must have broke my pull start right as it was finally starting to get fuel and start has to wait another week before I could play with it

Easy start better than the traxxas version
Wish it came with the one way betting but I ordered one anyway we will see how good this works

A Must Have
This thing is well worth the money. It is a thousand times easier to prime and start my shockwave with this thing. Just make sure you thoroughly tighten all the screws. I was lucky enough to notice that my starter came loose and had lost 1 screw and 2 others were found. Only 1 screw was holding the starter on. Tighten the screws on flush.

Save your money
I bought the first electric starter at the end of June, and then had to get another one the middle of July. Now, the begining of August, neither one is working. Also I broke the mandrel on the first one also. Now all I have is 2 spare batteries for my electric car, and some misc. parts. The motors still work, but not like they are supposed to work. I took one of the starters apart last night, and the upper part that was supposed to make contact with the lower part was nowhere where it was supposed to be. Also the part that was to make contact with the lower part was burnt, so no current could go through, also, the switch would not move any more either. The electric starter is great, but they have to work. Now, I use a drill, that has much more torque, and I don't really have to worry about it. I guess the best thing to do is buy the backing plate, and other items separatly, and use a drill. It is alot more reliable!

You know i have no idea were the bar reviews came from but this is a must have! Got embarrassed trying to sell one of my nitro r/c’s with the pull start and a bad igniter never again!! Thanks to redcat racing electric start and my lipo igniter start up ever single time!

New Motor Starter Excellent Buy
you need to push this item ,my grandson had it on in 10minutes was racing in 15 , better than the pull start 100% .
