Great for candle making.
This works well. The temperature is close to the setting on the dial, about 165 when I set it to 176, so close enough. It pours fast, so makes filling the pour pot quick. I did take the advice of others and tilted it back when I shut it off to drain the wax out of the spout before leaving the remaining wax to harden. I've only used it once so far, but this is so much easier than the double boiler, and I don't need to tie up the kitchen when I make candles, I can do it in my shop now.

A Game Changer
I keep asking myself, "Why did I not get a wax melter sooner?" I make wax melts on a small scale along with bath & body products and had been using a double boiler system to melt my wax. I cannot believe how easy and fast this melter makes the whole process. Cleanup is way easier as well. This wax melter appears to be well made, is sturdy and stable. I do wish it had better temperature controls as I am finding the dial hard to read and that my wax is warmer than indicated. If I ever decide I need a 2nd unit I would look at this model again.

Works great
This is well made. The metal is thick. Heats to 185 F quickly. I do wish the pour valve was on the bottom but other than that it’s perfect.

Easy to set up - USE A THERMOMETER
This pot is awesome, easy to set up, but be sure to use your own thermometer as the built in dial does not display accurately. For example, when i set it to 170 it actually heats wax to over 200 degrees.

Good price but broke after 18 months
Good starting melter if you don't want to spend a ton of money on a more industrial melter. However, it broke after 18 months (doesn't heat at all anymore) and it would heat the wax hotter than I set it to, occasionally burning my wax. My only other complaint is that the spout is so low that I had to have it raised on a makeshift platform. Longer legs would be ideal since I like to fill containers over a scale. All in all, it's an okay melter and a decent price.

Candle makers worst nightmare
I purchased this in 2023 so I’ve had some time to use it & gather an opinion on it. Two main things about this melting pot frustrate me. 1. The spout to pour is so high up I have to tilt the entire machine just to pour it into my pitcher. It hurts my back and is so time consuming. This also causes me to have less control when measuring out the wax. I have to not only focus on my scale while pouring but also how much or little I’m tilting the machine as that affects how fast or slowly the wax is coming out. 2. The temperature control is a literal nightmare. Firstly the numbers on the machine do not match the temperature the element heats the wax up to. There’s been so many times I’ve set the temperature to 175 and just minutes later the wax is measuring at 215. Then I have to drop the temperature in hopes it’ll come down. It looses heat quickly so just as soon as my wax temperature does come down it’s too low. I have to go back to finagling with the temperature. You have to babysit this machine in order for your candles to come out the way you want them to. There’s zero time to do any prep, mix FO for other candles, clean up your work space, ect. You have to constantly stand beside this machine and check the temperature 100 times before you’re ready to pour it into your pitcher. Tonight while making candles I tried going through different scenarios in my head where this machine could work for someone. I couldn’t think of one. Whether you’re making candles as a hobby, making candles for a wedding or party or trying to run your own candle business this machine will slow you down. I do not recommend this to anyone especially someone who wants to pursue their dreams of owning/running a candle company.
