Warning: Unison 8 inch lid doesn't fit Simply Calphalon 8 inch omelet pans
I have two Simply Calphalon omelet pans that I received free as part of a large set. They didn't come with lids, and I couldn't find matching lids in the Simply product line (Simply = nonstick inside, anodized outside, not dishwasher safe). I took a gamble and ordered these Unison lids. (You can use Calphalon's website to see what products these lids fit, but since the pans in my set didn't come with individual serial numbers, that didn't help me).Unfortunately, while the lids appear to be of fine quality, the 8 inch Unison lid does not fit on the 8 inch Simply pan (the 10 inch doesn't fit exactly, but it works well enough - the 8 inch lid just sits on the rim). The Unison lid's appearance is also surprisingly different from the Simply lid. I actually like the cheaper Simply lids better - the Unison lids have obvious seams on the metal rim, and the junction between the glass and metal looks unattractive. I could tell from the photo that the lid/handle style was different, and didn't care about that, but in terms of overall impression, the Unison lids didn't look as nice as I expected from Calphalon (thus four stars).Down the road I'll probably replace all my low-end Simply Calphalon with better quality Calphalon anyway, and for now the 10 inch lid works. But if you are looking for lids for lidless Simply omelet pans from a large boxed set, you may be better off buying a new pan with a matching lid, for only slightly more money (or less, depending where you go). Be warned! :)

Quality Lids For Calphalon Pots, Not Pans
These are quality lids, but I disagree with how much they should cost. You would be buying off buying Calphalon Unison pots and getting these lids included for a better value. These 8-inch and 10-inch glass lids fit very well on the Unison saucers and soup pots. I do not recommend using them with the 8-inch and 10-inch pans as they not only do not completely fit the cover (despite that the packing says it will). The way it sits on the pans can scratch the inside outer edges of your pans. These are best used with the pots and smaller saucers (just make sure you measure to see if they fit).I took a star off because I've been used to lids with at least a tiny air hole at the top to let some steam out, but these do not have them. Yes, that can be good for certain types of cooking, but I personally prefer a hole, otherwise I have to move the lid slightly to the side on top of a pot to let food breathe. These are great lids, but buy pots that already have these included, like theĀ Calphalon Unison Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set , which is a great set with an amazing warranty. Recommended.

Lids are alright, but more heavy duty than required, and forced to buy two when I only needed one size.....
These are fine, but nothing special. I needed only the 10 inch cover as I use that pan to make little braised dishes for two. They are heavier duty than they need to be, actually uncomfortably heavy, and rather expensive, where something lighter would do the trick. After all, you aren't cooking on them, just using them for a cover. Also, I was very bummed out that I had to buy two -- ridiculous. Plus, I bought the pan set to replace a previous version of the these very same pans and had a lid that fit the old 10-inch size, but not the new, replacement version. I can only conclude that the minor difference is so that one would have to buy new lid(s). This made for a very expensive set, and I am very displeased that I have one lid I will likely never use, plus that they are so expensive. Not too impressed, Calphalon. However, as stated, needed the 10-inch lid so had to cave in. I am moderately disabled so do most of my shopping on line. I guess the next time I will have to hit the stores when I need to replace my pans to see if I can find some that go with these lids.

Great lids
I bought this set to go with my zwilling 8 and 10 inch nonstick frying pans and for my 8 and 10 inch calphalon tri ply frying pans that were part of the set but didn't have lids. Surprisingly, 8 inch lid fits both frying pans perfectly, but 10 inch lid fits tri ply pan but doesn't fit 10 inch zwilling pan; I mean I still use it but it is not a perfect match. Also, quality of these lids is great and handle stays relatively bearable to touch. I wrote a review for a 12 inch lid as well; and want to mention it here now . 12 inch lid fits both calphalon tri ply and zwilling nonstick 12 inch pans perfectly.

Wonderful to use - but the rivets become unattractive
Doing more cooking lately, I have been getting some Calphalon and other quality kitchen utensils and tool. The only drawback to these lids I have noticed is that the rivets that hold the handles seem to be aluminum -- they are attacked by dishwasher detergent and are rough and pitted. But they and their matching pans are wonderful to use. (The rivets that hold the handles to the pans get stained with use - I don't want to scour the pans, especially the coated ones.)

Sturdy, A tad Hefty but Fantastic
The other day the Calphalon Unison pans arrived and like a good cook, I ran to the sink, washed all the arrivals including these covers. I chose a recipe that I knew was fantastic and no one could mess it up except for the fellow sitting on my left. Shucks, he could mess up the base of the Great Pyramid. The chicken breasts were tender and tasty: exactly as they should be. Wow! Between the covers and the fry pans we have some new front setters that replaced several of those that were relegated to the rear echelon. Honestly, I thought twice about buying the covers; however, I am glad I did. They sure add a lot to the 2 fry pans.

Good quality product
Good quality product. Steel and glass, no worries of any part melting away. I bought it to use with my cuisine art frying pans and sauce pans. They are not quite compatible and they will not sit right on the lip. My fault. I still use them because it the lid doesn't sit flushed, but it there is no visible crack between the lid and the cuisine art pans.

Good product. Only had it for a month. Ask me again in a year
Only had the product for a month or so. So far, so good. However, I was impressed with some green non-stick pans for a few months, then they lost nonstick feature and handles became loose. So, I am reluctant to say any more than this product looks good, appears well-made, and does maintain non-stick feature very well after 15 or so uses
