Multi-use essential
My main use for the activated charcoal is sprinkling some onto my lathered up back brush while showering. It is as effective and a lot cheaper than the $8 charcoal soap bars.As a kid I got food poisoning from some restaurant food and the hospital made me drink a large glassful of water with lots of charcoal in it. Because of that and knowing how toxic our world is now, I'll drink about a tsp. in a glass of water once or twice a month.Sprinkling a bit on your toothpaste will help whiten teeth and remove bacteria causing bad breath. One final use I have yet to try is for adding a layer into a makeshift water purifier.

Useful for many things
I actually got this to add some bio-char to my dirted fish tanks, but since it is such a relatively small amount, I decided to use it for other things. So far, I have found it to be a rather messy toothpaste additive (the benefits about which I am dubious, and probably won't use it for that again as it get pretty disgusting) and as a coloring agent and cleanser in homemade cold-process soap. (Works great for that!) However, my main use is for an emergency anti-emetic in my home first aid kit. I have a sealed jar (with oxygen absorbers to keep it dry and fresh) in the kit and it should come in handy if anyone is accidentally poisoned. Hopefully, we won't have to test its effectiveness for that purpose, but it's good to have around, just in case. The powder seems high-quality, and fine enough for the uses I outlined above, as well as any cosmetic use you may want to put it to, and there is plenty of it.

Super Fine, No Scent or Taste
This review is for MB Herbals Food Grace Activated Coconut Shell Charcoal Powder, 1 LB.I've been using activated charcoal for 30 years for a myriad of different purposes which can be found with a search engine. This comes as a loose powder which is great for using when you don't want to open capsules like when brushing teeth. This powder is super fine with no scent or taste, but does have the expected gritty texture. This charcoal powder works similarly to other brands I've used previously. As when using any activated charcoal I need to be careful not to get it on the carpet or my clothing as it is likely to stain fabric. It washes off skin with soap, water, and a little scrubbing, but I'm careful not to get it into an open cut as it could possibly result in a tattoo effect.Activated charcoal should be stored in a cool dry place, and I'm not sure the bag it comes in will keep all the moisture out, so I carefully transferred it to a jar. I would have preferred that it came in a jar; however, since the description clearly showed that it comes in a bag I'm not reducing my star rating, but thought it was worth mentioning.Overall, I'm happy with the quality of this charcoal and would recommend it if you don't mind your charcoal powder in a bag.As a side note, the MB Herbals Activated Charcoal Powder is made in India.

Great for teeth whitening
This is great to mix with toothpaste for teeth whitening and removing stains. I drink a lot of coffee which unfortunately does stain my teeth a bit. Mixing this charcoal powder with toothpaste helps to remove some of those stains and cleans the mouth. A small amount goes a long way.
